A family just wanted to have fun watching a little football in mid-December. They went to see the Houston Texans take on the Arizona Cardinals at NRG Stadium in Houston. At one point during their December 14, 2026, outing, the mother took her 8-year-old son to use the bathroom. She allowed him to go into the men’s restroom while she waited outside. When he came out, she didn’t think much of it. But when they returned to their seats, things changed dramatically.
The boy told his mother that a stadium employee, later identified as Ushay Nixon, had pulled down his pants. Now Nixon is facing charges, and the family has filed a lawsuit.
The child went into the bathroom and saw Nixon wearing a purple shirt, Click2Houston reported. He told the child he worked for the stadium, and the child trusted him. When Nixon told him to go into a stall, the child complied. His unidentified mother told the news outlet that Nixon preyed upon the boy’s innocence.
“He said he was washing his hands and that an employee approached him and told him to go into a stall,” she said. “And my son said, ‘I trusted him because he was a worker.’”
Once in the stall, Nixon allegedly locked the door and pulled down the child’s pants. This scared the boy, who ran out of the bathroom. His mother noticed him adjusting his clothing, but her son didn’t say anything about his bathroom experience. A short time later, a stranger approached and told the mother what he had seen in the bathroom “didn’t look right.” That’s when the child told his mom what happened.
The boy’s father told Click2houston the entire situation has taken an emotional toll on the family.
“I feel I failed,” the man said. “I know there was nothing else I could do. I did everything that you think is right, but you’re supposed to protect your children, and that day I failed.”
On January 13, the Houston Police Department announced 21-year-old Nixon’s arrest on Facebook. It also shared surveillance photos from the day, asking anyone who might have seen something to contact them.
“Officers would like to speak to anyone who might have information in this case. Surveillance photos prior to and after the incident are shown,” police requested in the post.
Houston Public Media noted that the unidentified family filed a lawsuit against Nixon, Aramark Sports and Entertainment Services of Texas, LLC, and NRG Park managing company ASM Global Parent Inc. Court documents claim Nixon had a prior arrest in 2022 for indecency with a child and indecent assault, but the court dropped the charges.
The family’s lawyer, Anna Greenberg, shared a statement obtained by Houston Public Media that Nixon did not receive a proper background check.
“This case is every parent’s worst nightmare,” Greenberg shared in a statement. “An 8-year-old boy went to his first NFL game expecting excitement and joy, and instead he was targeted by an employee who never should have been allowed anywhere near children.”
An Aramark spokesperson told Houston Public Media this is a “very disturbing situation” and that Nixon no longer works for the company.
Nixon faces charges of indecency with a child by exposure and attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than 14, per Click2houston.
As moms, this incident terrifies us. It makes us never want to leave the house because nowhere seems safe.
