Carrie Underwood’s Husband Reportedly Wants Her to Step Back From Fame

When it comes to her career, Carrie Underwood has had a busy year — especially now that she has returned to American Idol as a judge for a second season. But her packed schedule reportedly has husband Mike Fisher so concerned for her well being that he’s encouraging her to step back from fame and enjoy the little things at home on their farm instead. Is that what Carrie really wants, though?

Carrie will be putting more of a focus on her family this year.

According to what an insider told Star, the real reason that Carrie isn’t touring in 2026 is because she wants to focus on spending more time with her family, including Mike and their two sons, Isaiah and Jacob.

“Carrie is totally drained right now, both physically and emotionally,” admits the source. “For the past several years, she’s been packing her calendar and pushing herself to the limit, which has meant long spells on the road and away from Mike.”

Mike has reportedly really been missing Carrie.

The source went on to say that Mike is at a point where he “desperately wants his wife back.”

“[Mike] and others in Carrie’s life have been urging her to stop chasing the dollar and appreciate what she has in Tennessee,” they said. “The farm is like a paradise and yet, she rarely gets to appreciate it.”

Carrie is ready to spend more time at the family’s Tennessee home.

It’s not just Mike who wants Carrie to slow down — she’s on board with the plan, too.

“Carrie’s going to give in and do a ton of outdoor stuff now there’s time on her hands,” the insider claimed. “[She’s also] longing to recharge her batteries and re-asses what’s most important to her right now, starting first and foremost with her marriage.”

This intel lines up with earlier reports that Carrie almost didn’t return to American Idol for a second season because of how demanding her schedule had become, but producers were so determined to keep her on board that they were able to make a few changes so that Carrie could still get quality time with her family.

“There’s been a lot of switch-ups into how they’re making this season. The Hollywood Week was taken out completely to lessen the amount of time Carrie and the judges filmed in Los Angeles,” an Idol insider told The Sun last week. “And because it’s her home base and such a good city for music, they filmed in Nashville.”
