What to Know
After growing up in the spotlight, there’s no doubt that Joy-Anna Duggar is used to getting all kinds of unwelcome criticism on her social media posts. But this time, some of her followers may have taken things too far. After sharing a video of what her Sunday morning as a mom of three looks like in a post on Instagram, she’s receiving tons of unsolicited advice and shade… and even a bit of pregnancy speculation mixed in there for good measure.
Joy shared footage of her family as they got ready for church.
The video shows Joy and her family — including husband Austin Forsyth and the couple’s three kids, Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner — at home, getting ready to leave for church and making sure all of the kids are clean and dressed. In the car, Joy can be seen putting on her makeup as the family makes a quick stop for coffee, and they all pause to take a group selfie when they finally do arrive at the church.
“Sunday Morning GRWM,” Joy captioned the video, abbreviating the phrase “get ready with me.” “New week. New month. Same need for coffee.”
More than one comment made fun of her dress.
Joy chose to wear a long (and conservative) short-sleeved blue dress with a beige floral pattern — something that’s pretty typical for a church outing. But multiple people in her comments couldn’t help but make fun of her pick.
“You’re too young and pretty to wear ugly dresses like that. I get that you’re going for modest fashion but I feel like there are way better options,” one person wrote.
Another commenter chimed in, “You’re too young to be wearing old lady dresses.”
Other people were upset that she shared clips of her kids in the process of getting dressed, with one admonishing her in a comment that said, “No half dressed babies on the internet please!!! There are sick people in this world.”
Others wondered if she is secretly pregnant.
For some people, the dress was a dead giveaway that Joy is trying to hide a baby bump.
Along with multiple comments from followers questioning if she’s pregnant, one asked, “Are you expecting? Your [sic] always hidden behind things and in baggier clothes.”
One commenter described Joy’s comment section on this post as “wild,” and honestly, they’re right. She was just sharing a peek into her morning — did she really need all the negative commentary from strangers to go with it?
