Lucy Harrison was due to return home to the United Kingdom on January 11, 2025. She and her boyfriend, Sam Littler, were in Prosper, Texas, visiting her father, Kris Harrison, when an argument erupted between the father and daughter. The pair reportedly argued about President Donald Trump. Things became heated, and Kris Harrison shot his daughter in the chest. Lucy Harrison died on January 10. He claimed the shooting was an accident and a grand jury failed to indict Kris Harrison. But at an inquest in the United Kingdom attended by Littler, it was asserted that the father lied to police about what really happened.
Those at the inquest heard that Kris Harrison shot his daughter in a bedroom inside his Texas home, The Times reported. Lucy Harrison expressed concerns about her father keeping a gun inside the home he shared with his two younger daughters. Things shifted to the father and daughter arguing about Trump and him paying hush money to Stormy Daniels.
“Kris and Lucy ended up having quite a big argument, which led to Lucy running upstairs and being upset,” Littler said during the inquest. He added that the conflict continued between the father and daughter, with Lucy Harrison asking, “How would you feel if I were the girl in that situation and I’d been sexually assaulted?” the outlet reported.
Littler said Kris Harrison told Lucy Harrison it wouldn’t bother him since he had his other two daughters at home. Later that day, he led his eldest daughter into his room, and moments later, the shooting occurred.
“I remember running into the room, and Lucy was lying on the floor near the entrance to the bathroom, and Kris was just screaming, just sort of nonsense,” Littler said.

Kris Harrison did not appear at the inquest but made a statement through his attorneys. “I fully accept the consequences of my actions, and there isn’t a day I don’t feel the weight of that loss — a weight I will carry for the rest of my life, and I know that nothing I say can ease the heartbreak this tragedy has caused,” he wrote, per The Times.
“I cannot undo what happened, but I can honour Lucy by being the best father I can be to her sisters and by carrying her memory forward in everything we do. I am deeply sorry for the pain others feel from this tragedy. Lucy’s spirit — her warmth, her humour, her kindness — will live on in all of us who loved her,” the father added.
A Much Loved campaign gave a beautiful description of the young woman. “Lucy was life. She lived it fiercely and fearlessly, not being afraid to feel all that life has to offer. Lucy unashamedly loved – she had a huge capacity to love and be loved,” it reads.
According to The Times, Kris Harrison initially told police he hadn’t been drinking the day of the shooting, even though they smelled alcohol on his breath. He later admitted to drinking wine. Kris Harrison said it had no influence on the shooting as it was purely an accident.
Alcohol, guns, and politics are a dangerous combination. For this family, it proved deadly.
