Allison Holker’s Engagement Announcement Sparks Brutal Backlash

Just over three years after unexpectedly losing her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, in December 2022, Allison Holker is planning another walk down the aisle. On Thursday, the dance pro announced that she is engaged to Adam Edmunds with an Instagram post all about the elaborate proposal he planned for her at her birthday party, and though plenty of fans are congratulating her, many others are sending serious backlash her way.

Allison announced the big news with plenty of photos.

In a post that Allison shared on Instagram on February 12, she announced that she is engaged to Adam. The couple made their relationship public in 2024, and now, they’re planning to spend the rest of their lives together.

Alongside photos of the proposal itself, which showed Allison in a long, red gown, she shared a tribute to her future husband in the caption.

Writing that she’s “forever grateful” for him, Allison said, “You surprised me with a surprise birthday party and then surprised me and all our guests at the party with a surprise proposal party. The whole night was magic and you had every detail thought out to make it even more special.”

People are pointing out one specific line in her caption as problematic.

Allison is getting a lot of side-eye from people on Reddit, who were particularly unimpressed that she called the night of the proposal “the most romantic night of my life.”

“It was the most romantic night of her life when she was literally couples paired with her late husband on multiple tv shows where their love was often described as ‘epic.’ How interesting,” one commenter wrote. “Interesting how quickly she’d moved on.”

Another replied, “The most romantic night of her life made me cringe. Hard. I feel as if on the anniversary of his death she forgets to post something until others do. Twitch’s friend keep his memory alive. All I see is her… well doing this.”

Many still aren’t happy with the things she’s done since tWitch’s death.

Allison has drummed up a bit of controversy over the past few years, including sharing details about his final days and publishing his personal journal entries in her memoir, and her engagement post is making it all come flooding back to many of her detractors.

“Twitch had his demons, but I can’t shake the feeling that his story would have ended differently if he were able to get out of that relationship,” another commenter wrote. “Her antics since his passing, how she has treated his family, and how she has monetized his memory makes me physically ill when I think about it.”

So far, Allison has yet to respond to any of the backlash.
