People Have Questions About Trump Seemingly Calling Karoline Leavitt Kellyanne Conway

There might have been a time when Donald Trump‘s supporters heavily implied and even accused Joe Biden of being too old and confused to remain in the White House, but even those who love Trump can’t deny his verbal mistake. When delivering a speech, seemingly talking about how well Karoline Leavitt is doing as the press secretary, Trump repeatedly referred to her as Kellyanne Conway.

In case you need a bit of a history lesson, Conway was once one of Trump’s advisors. She left the White House in 2020, however, and she is most definitely not fighting off the press like Trump claimed she was doing when he spoke about her. Clips from the incident were shared across social media, and people are convinced Trump is as confused as he has accused Biden of being.

Donald Trump referred to Karoline Leavitt as Kellyanne Conway not once, twice, or three times, but four.

In the clip, Trump speaks at a podium during a Women’s History Month event at the White House. He mentioned Conway, and gets several cheers from the audience, but what he actually says about Conway is clearly meant to be about Leavitt, and Trump doesn’t take a second to correct himself at any point.

“Of course. Kellyanne Conway. Has anyone ever heard of her? She’s fantastic,” Trump says in the clip. “She’s in there fighting. She’s a Kellyanne. A man, a friend of mine said, ‘you know, that Kellyanne, I admire the way she goes in and she screams at those people…’ Meaning the media. ‘Cause this is a man that doesn’t do very well with the media. It’s one of those things. But thank you, Kellyanne.”

Umm, what? Any explanation for why Trump spoke about a White House staffer who hasn’t been part of his team for years would make little to no sense, because clearly, he meant Leavitt in his speech. In the comments under the clip on TikTok, some people asked if Trump is aware of the year. Honestly? Great question.

“Why am I feeling secondhand embarrassed?” Someone else commented. “I wonder how MAGA [is] gonna find a way to spin this one,” another user added.

On X (formerly Twitter), someone wrote, “Why, why, why is the press not treating his obvious cognitive decline with even half the scrutiny they lavished on Biden?”

Conway was, once upon a time, a big part of Trump’s inner circle. Then again, that was back in his first term. Before he left the White House, Conway made the decision to leave to spend more time with her family, according to NPR. Her husband at the time was also one of Trump’s critics.

But after Trump took office for his second term, Conway was no longer part of his merry band of misfits. Don’t tell Trump that, though, because, uh, he apparently thinks Conway is Leavitt and Leavitt is Conway. Conway was at the event, but Trump’s comments only make sense when referencing Leavitt. Both women are blonde and they follow Trump’s every word and whim, so maybe that’s where the confusion set in for him?

No one from the White House immediately addressed Trump’s verbal flub.

After the clip from the event at the White house went viral, Trump did not publicly share a response to his mistake, and the White House did not give a public explanation for what happened. This, of course, led social media users to speculate more on what the heck is happening behind closed doors and what the quality of Trump’s cognitive abilities are.

Someone gave their own explanation, though, when they wrote on X, “At a briefing, Trump repeatedly confused Karoline Leavitt with Kellyanne Conway. Which is understandable, since Kellyanne is Karoline without Photoshop.”

Someone replied to that X post with, “Same thing, just 40 years apart.”
