‘Horrifying’ & X-Rated Letters Sent to Kate Middleton Are Being Hidden From Her

As the Princess of Wales (and, of course, the future queen of England), it’s practically a given that Kate Middleton is going to receive a lot of correspondence from fans and the general public. But unfortunately, it sounds like some of that correspondence is more disturbing than some may have imagined, according to what royal insiders have told Radar Online. And even though Kate and her fellow royal family members are being kept from reading the contents of the worst mail they receive, it could indicate that there’s an increased risk of an actual attack against her in the future.

The more “disturbing” letters have become more prevalent in recent years.

A palace insider told the outlet that the royals’ mail is heavily monitored, including Kate’s, and lately, the content of the letters she receives has become scarier.

“The scale of correspondence Catherine receives is enormous, and while much of it is supportive, there is a deeply troubling subset that is inappropriate, obsessive, or outright disturbing,” the source said. “Staff working in the mail rooms are encountering letters that cross boundaries in ways that can only be described as stalker-like.”

There is a team of workers dedicated to making sure that Kate never sees these letters.

The source went on to say that there is a “secret and very strict” policy in place that will keep Kate from ever seeing the worst letters that are sent her way. This includes an entire team dedicated to making sure that happens, since the content of some of this mail is so bad that “exposing her to that kind of content repeatedly would be incredibly damaging to her mental health.”

“The language being used internally is about protecting her sanity — making sure she is not confronted with the most horrifyingly violent and X-rated messages that come through,” they said.

Another source added, “Some of these letters are graphic, aggressive, and deeply unsettling, and they are arriving with concerning frequency. Teams are trained to identify anything that crosses into threatening territory and ensure it is dealt with immediately, without ever reaching her.”

The royals are at an extremely elevated risk of being stalked when compared to other citizens.

The letters are especially alarming because, as Radar Online reported, not only do about 40% of the most serious stalking cases involve a public figure like Kate, but in 70% of attacks, the assailant has already made some kind of threat that they were planning to carry out that attack.

It sounds like every effort is being made to keep Kate (and the rest of the family) safe, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not a scary and very serious downside to the work of being a senior royal.

“The truth is that Kate’s position brings with it an enormous range of attention. While there is a great deal of warmth and admiration, there is also a darker side that can be intrusive and unsettling,” a friend of Kate’s told Radar. “It is something she is aware of, but that does not make it any easier when that attention crosses a line into something more concerning.”
