What to Know
If you remember your college days, they’re likely full of faded memories and moments that you either wish you could live again or you may just want to completely forget about. One TikTok user decided that it would be a good idea to go on a 50-day bender leading up to her college graduation and she wanted to document as many of those days as possible for social media. The videos range from seemingly harmless drinking with her friends to her looking rather worrisome as she’s completely hungover and trying to do squats on a vibration plate. People online have some thoughts on this particular 50-day challenge, especially in regards to whether or not it’s a healthy thing to take on.
College student, Angie, is documenting her 50-day bender on TikTok and it is… a lot.

There’s certainly something to be said about wanting to challenge oneself, but what if the challenge is something that’s completely misguided and potentially harmful?
A college student named Angie, who goes by wiener.salad on TikTok, decided in the weeks leading up to her graduation, she was going to go on a 50-day bender. If you check out some of her TikTok videos, you’ll immediately see that what she meant by that was she was going to drink in excess just about every day for 50 days.
She’s chosen to document and update her followers with a new video every day throughout the challenge. Some days are more lowkey than others as she just shows up on camera with a can of something in her hand while others it looks like a full-on party and bar-hopping fest.
To put things lightly, there are many concerned people in the TikTok comments section who can’t help but wonder things like, “The real challenge will be when you can’t quit.” A completely fair point. Has she thought about this? We’re not sure.
Her followers are concerned about what this kind of challenge is doing to her health.
Even when you’re just trying to have fun with your friends, drinking alcohol in excess probably isn’t something you should really mess with because you never know if it might become an addiction. A lot of people in the TikTok comments feel the same.
One person was of the same mindset and gave Angie a very simple warning by sharing, “Your story in AA is gonna be wild.” In case you’re unaware, AA stands for Alcoholics Anonymous.
There are lots of people in the TikTok comments who are leaving serious comments with their many concerns about this bender challenge. One person wrote, “Queen, I’m being so serious, when you try to stop you need to do it under medical supervision. Alcohol is the most dangerous substance to come off of after a long period of time.”

Another person shared, “Girl, i’m just praying you stop drinking. Seriously, if you are able to stop drinking after your bender please go see a doctor, alcohol withdrawal is deadly.” These people are making such an important point.
Another individual in the comments tried to appeal to this young adult’s senses by putting things in plain terms, “congrats on the 10k, next milestone will be a new liver,” they wrote.
Some are grossed out by how this kind of thing is put on display on social media nowadays.
In this Reddit thread, a lot of folks are fairly disturbed to see this young woman’s 50-day bender challenge hit TikTok. One person in the Reddit thread shared, “One of the morbid sides of social media is how easy it is to view someone’s life spiraling in intimate detail.” Yeah, it’s a little much at times, isn’t it?
Another individual in the Reddit comments is looking to call a spade a spade when it comes to what they’re watching here. “Girl that’s just alcoholism,” they wrote. Another person in the replies said, “Yeah, like there are plenty out there on years long benders.. this isn’t new or groundbreaking. It’s just sad.”
As far as life experience is concerned, a person in the Reddit thread saw themselves in Angie’s actions and we hope things do turn out differently for her. “It’s going to extend past fifty days. It’s going to affect her whole life, her relationships, her health, both physical and mental/emotional. Thank goodness internet, camera phones, and social media were not around yet when I was deeply into my drinking days,” they wrote.
