Laura Clery Accused of Lying About 600-Pound Fridge Falling On Top of Her

Fridgegate is getting wild, y’all. After influencer Laura Clery claimed that a 600-pound fridge fell on top of her in a viral video — complete with footage from an ambulance — some people are starting to notice that the details of her story might not be adding up. One of her former fans is even calling her out for “milking” the situation for more attention (and money) and she’s definitely not the only one who feels this way about Laura’s situation.

Laura claimed that her fridge fell on top of her while she was at home alone with her kids.

@lauraclery

Most terrifying night of my life as a single mom. I was home alone getting ready for bed when my 600 pound fridge tipped forward… and then it didn’t stop. It slammed into me and pinned me against the counter. I couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe right. My kids were in the house. I genuinely didn’t know if I was getting out of that alive. Thank God my phone was in my pocket and I was able to call 911. Thank god it didn’t fall on my kids. It took three firefighters to lift it off me. I’m still shaking. Full story in the link.

In a video that popular TikTok comedian and single mom Laura posted on May 21, she claimed that her “worst fear” came true: She was seriously injured while she was the only adult at home with her kids.

She included footage from the aftermath of the accident, showing the EMTs and ambulances that arrived at her house after dark that night. “I couldn’t have broken anything, right?” Laura can be heard asking one EMT, who replies, “That’s why we’re taking you to the trauma center.”

The video now has more than three million views, and Laura has continued sharing multiple updates on the situation across her social media accounts. People have been truly worried about her; a fridge falling down on top of someone is a really horrifying situation that she was lucky to escape alive.

Some people are concerned, but others are finding it all ‘absolutely bizarre.’

While Laura’s accident sounds legitimately scary, some people aren’t convinced she’s actually telling the truth about what happened. One TikToker who was once a fan of Laura’s, The Babbling Brooke, has shared her take on the Fridgegate situation, and as far as she’s concerned, a lot of things aren’t adding up, from the way she immediately started filming when the ambulance arrived to the fact that she was wearing her own merchandise in the photos she shared from the hospital.

But what many people consider the most glaring issue with the way Laura has shared what happened to her was when she monetized it using Patreon.

“She put her f—— wellbeing, whether she’s hurt or not, behind a paywall on Patreon, and [her ex-husband] Stephen did the exact same thing,” Brooke said. Laura has since removed the paywall to her update, but it seems like she only took that step after she got tons of backlash for doing it.

The vast majority of the hundreds of commenters who chimed in seem to agree with her, including one who came in hot with a stone cold “at this point, I’m on the fridge’s side.”

Laura is calling the people questioning her ‘conspiracy theorists.’

In one of her many videos about the situation, Laura responded to those who believe she’s faking the whole thing for her own benefit, including to get more pre-orders on her upcoming book.

“I’m just like, trying to move on with my life and heal, and you know, just do whatever — do work, and promote my book that I’ve been working on for four f—— years,” she said. “And now I get hit with this.”

It’s good to see that Laura appears to be fine after the whole fridge thing, but people are definitely going to be questioning her motives for a long time. You have to admit, the story is pretty wild…
