King Charles Has Been Planning His ‘Death Gift’ to Camilla & the Symbolism Goes Deeper Than Anyone Expected

As a 77-year-old man who has been undergoing cancer treatment for the last couple of years, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if King Charles is thinking more about his mortality than ever these days, but according to a royal insider, he’s actively planning for the end. In fact, he has reportedly already picked out the “death gift” he wants to give to Queen Camilla, and boy, the symbolism in what he chose is about as subtle as a brick to the face.

Charles has reportedly chosen a specific tiara to gift to his wife.

A source recently told Radar Online that Charles has reportedly been putting a lot of thought into what gift he could give Camilla that could remind her of their love even after his death, and that includes a collection of jewels that includes the Keppel Tiara.

“Since receiving his cancer diagnosis, Charles has become far more emotional and introspective about the people and possessions that matter most to him, and he is now on a mission to buy the entire Keppel jewelry set, as well as other priceless artifacts, as a huge gift for Camilla,” the source said. “Those around him believe these jewels go much deeper than extravagant royal gifts — they are deeply personal declarations of love and lasting devotion to Camilla, wrapped up in royal history and symbolism.”

The history behind the tiara is a bit… ironic.

Charles wants the jewelry to symbolize “the sacrifices they both endured and his desire to ensure Camilla remains protected and historically intertwined with his reign,” which is a lot of heavy lifting for any gift to do. But the history behind the Keppel Tiara mirrors Charles’ own history with Camilla — and the unceremonious way they fell in love.

According to Radar, the $44,000 tiara originally belonged to Camilla’s great-great-grandmother, Alice Keppel, who was King Edward VII’s mistress. Apparently, being a mistress to a royal runs in the family.

“Charles views the Keppel jewels as far more than historic accessories — to him they are intensely romantic symbols tied to a love story that survived decades of scandal, separation and public scrutiny,” the insider said. “He is deeply conscious of his mortality now, and there is a growing determination to assemble a collection of meaningful heirlooms for Camilla while he still has the chance.”

He is reportedly expecting that he will die before Camilla does.

And basically, he wants to make sure that he’s not forgotten — but let’s be real. He’s the king of England. He won’t be forgotten by anybody, least of all the woman who loved him.

“Those close to the King believe he privately assumes Camilla will outlive him, which has made these gifts feel even more emotionally charged,” the source said. “He wants her surrounded by pieces that reflect their relationship and his devotion to her after he is gone. Charles has always regarded Camilla as the one person he was truly meant to be with. These jewels are becoming his personal tribute to that belief — tangible reminders of a relationship he fought for over most of his adult life.”
