Parenting Influencer’s 2-Year-Old Daughter Dies in Tragic Accident at Family Home

Summertime and spending time by the pool is supposed to be such a leisurely and fun time for families that it can sometimes be easy to forget that practicing the utmost of pool safety, especially when you have little kids, is the most important thing to remember.

A parenting influencer with over 2 million followers, Jamal Morton, shared the devastating news that his 2-year-old daughter drowned in their family pool. The influencer, who’s also known as J’Amore or Mr. Jay to his followers, is facing criticism online as there was a GoFundMe started to help pay for funeral costs after his daughter’s death. What are your thoughts on this?

Heartbreakingly, Jamal Morton’s 2-year-old daughter has died by drowning.

According to Us Weekly, popular parenting influencer, Jamal Morton, has announced the death of his 2-year-old little girl, Rose, as she died from drowning in their pool at home.

A GoFundMe that was created on June 23, 2026, and has since been taken down, shared some of the tragic details of what happened, Us Weekly reported. Morton shared the insurmountable grief he was feeling after the horrific accident.

“You were the best daughter a father could ever ask for. Losing a child is a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I hate to make this post but y’all won’t be seeing me for a while. I have to take a break.”

What exactly happened to young Rose? The influencer went on to share that “she thought she was a big girl and could swim all by herself. She walked out of the house and got into the pool where she drowned. I hope heaven is real because I can’t imagine you being all alone by yourself. So God, if you’re real, please watch over my baby. Rest in Peace, my sweet angel.”

Before it was taken down, Morton asked his followers to consider donating to his fundraiser.

Us Weekly reported that Morton asked his fans to consider donating funds to his GoFundMe fundraiser, which has been removed, but it was intially set up to help the influencer pay for his little girl’s funeral. The magazine reported that the goal was posted at $6,500 and had reached over $4,000 at the time they published the article.

The entertainment outlet reported that Morton shared these sentiments on the GoFundMe page, “Please help us send her home. We have to move away because we can’t live in that house anymore, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to work anytime soon. Anything helps.”

There was a recent post on Facebook from Morton’s team sharing that all his “social media accounts are currently being managed by his team.” Keeping that in mind, there is still an abundance of people who are taking issue with the influencer dad who has dropped a lot of videos and collaborations over the years highlighting many expensive and luxurious goods starting a GoFundMe for his daughter’s funeral costs.

Online critics are not responding well to the influencer asking the public for money.

Even though the GoFundMe page has since been taken down — perhaps due to receiving so much online criticism — it doesn’t mean that the impact it made hasn’t stuck around.

This Reddit thread discusses things and links to an article from the Daily Mail that details how Jamal Morton’s toddler drowned in the family’s swimming pool at their $835,000 home in Georgia.

One person shared their thoughts in the thread. They wrote, “Starting a gofundme with 1mil followers and videos of excessive shopping and bragging about making 1mil in a year is wild.” Another individual shared, “Asking for donations while living in a $835,000 house is crazy work and seems like a gross cash grab. Not having a pool fence is even crazier.”

Another person in the thread did not hesitate putting the dad on blast. They wrote, “This guy has at least 2 videos bragging about his millions and how rich he is, flashing his Lamborghini and bragging about his $10M house…and then in the post about his daughter he begs for money with a gofundme link. These people…”

Is it safe to consider that Jamal Morton was coming at things from a lens of pure grief when he initially shared the GoFundMe page? Are people just being a little too rough on a dad who is experiencing one of the most painful experiences a parent can go through?
