Jinger Duggar’s New Health-Focused Post Quickly Turned Into a Comment Section Roast

Jinger Duggar has shared her newest Instagram partnership, and it’s not getting the reaction she expected. After the former reality star posted about working with an organization dedicated to making public health information related to the environment and our food more accessible, her comment section has become an absolute roast session. As it turns out, there is no shortage of people just waiting to call Jinger out for being a hypocrite because of her political beliefs.

Jinger is working with Common Source.

In a video to promote Common Source, Jinger talked about getting “nosy” when it comes to the ingredients in the food she eats and the different environmental protections that are (or aren’t) in place to keep food and air safe in the US.

“I read the labels. I buy organic when I can. We filter our water. And I still feel like I’m one search away from spiraling about what’s actually in our food and air,” Jinger wrote in the caption. “So I stopped spiraling and started getting nosy.”

It was what she wrote next that people really had a problem with: “Turns out a lot of the protections that are supposed to catch this stuff—the testing, the tracking, the rules—have been quietly getting rolled back. Forever chemicals in water. Pesticides on produce. Air that hits our kids with asthma the hardest.”

Yeah, um, the people that are getting all of the regulations rolled back? That would be Donald J. Trump and his administration — and Jinger and her family are longtime Republican voters.

Her politically charged comment in the post didn’t go unnoticed.

So many people commented on Jinger’s post, pointing out the hypocrisy of her statement. If she’s voting for the people responsible for rolling those regulations back, she’s part of the problem.

“But… you voted for the current president, whose mission has been to dismantle all the systems that used to not only protect consumers, but also farmers,” one person commented.

Another commenter wrote, “Not quietly rolled back. All of these were announced loudly. Pay more attention maybe.”

Some people are just glad that Jinger is starting to notice that something isn’t right.

In a discussion about Jinger’s post on Reddit, one person wrote, “I’m not going to complain when they accidently [sic] stumble into being right. Maybe she or someone that reads this will ‘get nosy’ and come to terms with the fact that they keep voting for the party that is making us less safe.

Others think that might be giving Jinger too much credit, though, and doubt that “her brain can even connect the dots.”

Either way, if air pollution and food standards are truly stressing Jinger out, she should really be doing more research before the next election. Her favorite candidates may not be the ones making decisions that she would want them to make.
