Nicole Kidman appears to be moving on, and while some fans are happy for her, Keith Urban might not be. The former couple finalized their divorce in January 2026 after 19 years of marriage. Previously, reports suggested that their split wasn’t exactly mutual, and that Nicole hoped to work through the challenges they were facing. Obviously, that didn’t happen. This led to rumors that Keith cheated on Nicole, though those allegations were never confirmed.
Whatever happened between them, it seems like Keith might be rethinking things now that Nicole appears to have a new man in her life. Which, if true… OK, Keith.
Nicole has been spotted with businessman Michael Reinstein, sparking romance rumors.
Michael is a 54-year-old private equity investor who has been spotted picking Nicole up from the airport (the fact that he would do this for her has some fans convinced that things are already getting pretty serious). Nicole and her alleged new boyfriend were first spotted in Italy together in July.
Originally, when news of Nicole and Keith’s divorce broke, there were rumors that Keith had essentially already moved on and thought the marriage couldn’t be salvaged. Meanwhile, an insider told People in September 2025 that Nicole “didn’t want” the divorce and had “been fighting to save the marriage.”
Perhaps the tables have turned, though.
A new report suggests that Keith thought he was totally over Nicole… until he saw her with Michael. Now, it seems like he’s rethinking things. An insider recently told RadarOnline that “the door had been firmly closed on his relationship with Nicole.” You know, until the rumors about Nicole’s alleged new boyfriend emerged, anyway.
Suddenly, he allegedly “still had hopes there might be a chance at reconciliation.”
Seeing Nicole with someone new has reportedly left him “absolutely devastated.” Now, he “is going through that feeling of deep loss all over again,” according to the source.
In spite of this, Keith is still ready to move on. Maybe. Sort of.
Or at least make his ex-wife jealous by making it look like he’s moved on? Although the insider made it sound like Keith is still very much hung up on his ex-wife, Keith also realistically knows that it’s time to move forward. It’s possible that Nicole’s apparent new romance will motivate him to start dating someone new as well. But not necessarily with good intentions.
“Seeing Nicole seemingly moving on is permitting him to do the same,” the insider claimed. “Don’t be surprised if Keith steps out with a ‘revenge romance’ of his own. He knows he has to move on.”
Even though initial reports suggested that the divorce was Keith’s choice more than it was Nicole’s, fans have suspected that the split has been hard on him. After all, it’s a major life change. They were together for nearly two decades.
Previously, a source told Woman’s Day that he was already questioning whether he “made a huge mistake,” even before he saw the photos of Nicole with Michael. “He’s exhausted, isolated, and looking at a future he never imagined,” the insider claimed.
