What to Know
After spending nearly her entire life in the spotlight as a supermodel and an actress, it’s safe to say that Brooke Shields has encountered her share of bullies, both online and off. So should we really be surprised that she is an expert at comebacks?
Brooke’s 20-year-old daughter, Grier Henchy, shared a video on TikTok of her pretending to be her mom’s bully to see what Brooke would say to the insults thrown at her, and she passed this test with flying colors.
Brooke’s video is part of a new TikTok trend.

Someone plays the role of the bully, lobbing insults at the person on camera, while the person on camera has to respond.
“OK, I’m going to insult you like a bully, and you need to tell me how you would respond,” Grier says to her mom in the video, and boy, she did not hold back.
First, she told Brooke, “you have a lot of gray hairs,” to which she responded, “It’s a sign of maturity.”
Next: “You’re so fat, that every time you sit on a chair, it breaks.” Brooke replied, “When was the last time I would have even been near you at a dinner table?”
Good responses, but Brooke was just getting warmed up.
There was no insult that Brooke wasn’t prepared to fight — and not only did she stay calm, but she chose her words perfectly.
Not even being called “annoying” could make Brooke sweat; instead, she said, “Well, I’m really famous, so I think it worked out okay.”
That one is perfect, because it’s so true. Obviously she’s not annoying to everyone, or she wouldn’t have the career she does today!
Her best response might have been the one she gave when her “bully” Grier called out the wrinkles on her forehead.
“It’s because I’m worried about the world because it’s inhabited by people like you,” she replied.
We’re going to have to keep that one in our back pocket just in case we happen to need it later, because that’s pretty good.
Fans couldn’t be prouder.
Once people who didn’t realize Grier is Brooke’s daughter got over the shock of seeing Brooke on their screens, commenters were all about showering the Pretty Baby star with praise for her comebacks (and pointing out that really, she’s too sweet to be as mean to this kind of bully as she should be).
“Who on earth is even relevant enough to bully the Brooke Shields?” one commenter asked.
Another gave her an extra comeback option, in case she ever needs it: “Her answer EVERY time should be: I’m Brooke Shields.”
Really, shouldn’t that be the only thing she has to say to any insult ever? She’s earned it.
