Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Face New Rumors About Their 14-Year Marriage

In December 2024, It Ends with Us star Blake Lively filed suit against her co-star and the film’s director, Justin Baldoni. The 10-count complaint sparked months of public speculation, countersuits, stars coming out in Lively’s support, and the end of other highly publicized friendships.

As Lively tried to regain control of the situation, it seems her marriage to Ryan Reynolds began to suffer. Nearly two years later, some say the drama might mean the end of the couple’s 14-year marriage.

The couple’s reputation changed dramatically.

Among Lively’s accusations against Baldoni were claims that he sexually harassed her on set. Lively stated that as soon as she made that information public, Baldoni launched a full-scale retaliation campaign to hurt her. Private text messages from Reynolds blamed Sony Pictures for not backing Lively, per court documents obtained by Radar Online.

“They just need to go f—–g straight at this,” he wrote. “They have to stop b———-g us and get in front of this.”

Reynolds appeared to be taking his marriage vows seriously and protecting his wife, whom he believed.

Lively lost a bestie amid the drama.

There was a time when Lively and Reynolds were considered among Hollywood’s hottest couples who everyone hoped to befriend. In just two years’ time, that’s changed considerably. A source close to the drama told Radar Online that Lively and Reynolds no longer appear at the top of the guest list.

“Two years ago, having Blake and Ryan at your party made you look important. Today, having them there might make people uncomfortable,” the source claimed.

Lively once had a very close bond with Taylor Swift and famously attended Kansas City Chiefs games with her during the early years of her relationship with Travis Kelce. A few leaked text messages apparently ended that.

Lively allegedly told Baldoni at one point that she benefited from her relationship with Swift and “you will too, I can promise you,” per People.

She also referred to her friends as “dragons,” a Game of Thrones reference that Swift wanted nothing to do with. As time went on, she distanced herself from her former friend.  Reynolds and Lively reportedly did not attend the singer’s wedding at Madison Square Garden on July 3.

Lively’s reputation seems to precede her.

According to Radar, Lively’s lawsuit drama, which ended in May 2026 with a judge dismissing the suit and both parties agreeing to walk away, makes her a liability. Professionally, she continues to have a hard time finding work, which has a financial impact on her life with Reynolds and their children James, Inez, Betty, and Olin.

“The controversy has left a stain on his reputation and marketability,” an insider told the news outlet. “Hollywood’s loyalty has never been about friendship, fairness, or principle. It follows the money. Right now, Blake and Ryan are discovering just how quickly the winds can change.”

Reynolds’ devotion to his wife reportedly scares some Hollywood powerhouses who don’t want to work with him, either. But will it be the end for the couple? Only time will tell.
