As much as we wish we could dress like celebrities, for most of us who aren't part of the Hollywood elite, it's nothing more than a pipe dream. After all, the stars simply have access to a bigger budget and professional stylists that we do not — not to mention super exclusive shopping and styling opportunities from designers that typically aren't available to the public. But that doesn't mean we can't follow along with our favorite best-dressed stars and dream of trading closets with them!
From the royal style icon who is Kate Middleton to singer and beauty mogul Rihanna, who kept her looks edgy even while pregnant, a lot of fashion inspiration can be found by looking at what the stars are wearing. Whether they're dressing to impress on the red carpet or just have seriously amazing street style, it's impossible to overstate how much they impact trends and the fashion world in general.

Her Euphoria character, Rue, might like to keep things casual most of the time, but Zendaya seems to be the opposite, especially when a red carpet event comes around. She's never been afraid to take a fashion risk, and as her career has blown up, she's had many more opportunities to show off some of her best looks ever. Can we talk about this all-black Valentino outfit? Not just anybody could pull this off!
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is known for changing up her personal style with each new album she releases, and it really inspires us to try new things and make sure that our closets are evolving along with our lives. Now that her Midnights era has officially begun, we're loving the funky 1970s aesthetic that so many of her outfits have taken on.
Kate Middleton
We've never seen it, but we imagine that Kate Middleton likely has one of the most interesting closets around. The Princess of Wales usually sticks to timeless, classic options, but that definitely doesn't mean boring. Her wardrobe ranges from budget pieces to the fancy designer stuff that you'd expect a member of the royal family to own, and how often she rewears her clothes just shows how versatile her closet must be.
Meghan Markle
While we're on the subject of royal style, we simply can't forget Meghan Markle. She might be a bit more daring than Kate is, but that fits her personality. Once in a while, she does wear a bold color (like the gorgeous red Carolina Herrera gown she's pictured in here), but her closet seems to mostly consist of quality neutral pieces that makes it easy to mix and match effortlessly.

Now that we've discussed British royalty, let's move on to Hollywood royalty. Kim has always been known for starting conversation with her outfits, and with her Skims collection, she's made plenty of her own contributions to the fashion discourse. She may not have Kanye West's style guiding her outfit choices anymore, but she's doing just fine without him. Even though some of her Balenciaga looks are a bit too daring for any of us to copy, we can't stop ourselves from looking forward to seeing what she wears next.
Lizzo
If there's one celebrity out there who we can definitively say truly seems to have fun with her style, it's Lizzo. Not only is she one of the most talented musicians out there right now, but she constantly injects so much color and joy into what she wears, which isn't something just anyone is capable of doing.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Over the course of her long career, we've gotten to watch Sarah Jessica Parker's style change quite a few times, and she's still one of the best dressed in the business. Not to mention the fact that being able to raid SJP's closet would mean having access to any of the iconic Carrie Bradshaw costume pieces she kept from Sex and the City!
Selena Gomez
We hear a lot of chatter about Selena Gomez's music and acting chops (who doesn't love Only Murders in the Building?) but her style definitely deserves a bit more credit. Selena always looks adorable and perfectly put together, no matter what she's doing.
Rihanna
We have to admire someone like Rihanna, who is not only fashionable in her everyday life but also managed to accomplish looking edgy while pregnant. Her maternity style was simply unlike anything else we've seen before.
Jennifer Aniston
OK, we totally wish we could swap closets with Jennifer Aniston's Friends character, Rachel Green, for all the '90s goodness, but Jennifer's own style might actually be better. She keeps her wardrobe clean, timeless, and so classic, and the more low-key snapshots she shares on Instagram are just proof that she dresses well even when she's not at a flashy event.
Lauren Conrad
If you came of age during the time of The Hills, this choice is probably on your list. Of course, Lauren has had years of experience in the fashion industry, including her current line at Kohl's, so she's a bit better at dressing herself than many of us are, and it definitely shows. She is always adorable and well-accessorized.
Kendall Jenner
Given the fact that Kendall Jenner's life is in the fashion industry — she is a model, after all — she does have a leg up on the rest of us in the style department. But when she's not on the runway, she picks out the best, low-key outfits that are actually accessible for the rest of us to wear in our daily lives.
Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes isn't as in the spotlight as she once was, but we've never seen a paparazzi photo where we didn't immediately covet her casual street style. She's a working mom to a teenager who has a busy life, and everything she wears is something that fellow moms can copy (and look great in) for their own daily lives.
Reese Witherspoon
Not only do we want to own everything for sale on Draper James' website, but we'd love access to Reese Witherspoon's personal closet as well. Her classy Southern mom vibes seem to shine through her wardrobe, and Reese always looks adorable.
Victoria Beckham
From the time that Victoria Beckham was Posh Spice and frequently wore Gucci, usually in all-black, we've been in love with her style. Today, the former pop star turned fashion designer still wears a lot of black and always looks polished and poised, including when she's wearing looks from her own line.
