Beyoncé and Jay-Z are known for keeping the lives of their children out of the public eye, a choice perhaps made to help them remain in control over what's shared about their family while also protecting their kids from unsolicited media scrutiny. Well, the 42-year-old singer's mother, Tina Knowles, is giving some rare insight into the kids, especially Rumi Carter and Sir Carter, who are more out of the public eye than their older sister, Blue Ivy Carter.

She talked about Blue Ivy first.
Speaking exclusively to E! News reporter Francesca Amiker on August 17, 2024, at the Remember My Name Ball presented by Debbie Allen, Jordan Cooper, and Jack Mizrahi, the 70-year-old fashion designer raved about her grandchildren. "I'm so proud of her," she mentioned of Blue Ivy landing a role in Mufasa: The Lion King. "She's just a natural."
Tina shared more of Blue's hidden talents.
The grandmother continued to say that she was "blown away" at Blue's self-taught piano skills. "She sounds like a concert pianist," she said, adding that the 12-year-old also paints, draws, and does poetry. "She's just an artistic soul."

She also revealed that the twins have different passions.
Continuing on to speak about the 7-year-old twins, Tina shared, "They're all artists, and I mean, how could they not be. Rumi is a natural little star and Sir is more into books and electronics."
This isn't the first time she gave some insight into her grandkids.
In May 2024, she opened up to E! News about how the twins are creatives. "Rumi is amazing— an amazing artist, painter and creator. How could they be anything else growing up in that environment? All we talk about is creativity and fashion," she said. "Sir is very quiet," she added, "does all of the numbers stuff, so he's not into fashion as much."
Beyoncé's kids spark her creativity.
In 2022, ahead of her Renaissance album release, Beyoncé paid tribute to her kids. "I want to give a special thank you to Rumi, Sir and Blue for allowing me the space, creativity, and inspiration," she posted on her website alongside a photo of her lying in bed with the children. "And a special thanks to my husband and muse, who held me down during those late nights in the studio."
