Brandon Blackstock’s Brother Shelby Speaks Out for the First Time After His Death

Brandon Blackstock‘s family is mourning their loss this week after the talent manager (and former husband to Kelly Clarkson) died at the age of 48 on August 7. After the news of Brandon’s death broke, his half-brother, Shelby, took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute, and the condolences are pouring in.

Shelby — the 35-year-old son of Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, and music legend Reba McEntire — shared photos of his brother on Instagram on Friday, calling his death a “tremendous loss” for their family. While some of the posts showed Brandon alone or at his ranch, most of them were family photos, including the other Blackstock siblings, who include Chassidy and Shawna.

“Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family — funny, bright, and full of life — and he will be deeply missed,” Shelby wrote.

“He taught me so much, leaving behind countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever,” Shelby continued. “For every treasured moment we shared, there are so many more we’ll never get to make together, but I know you’ll still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and in the everyday moments of life, I’ll feel your presence.”

After joking that Brandon would have to watch Shelby “do it all just a little better, a little smoother, and — let’s be honest — looking far more handsome,” he vowed that their family would “never stop loving, remembering and celebrating you.”

Brandon’s 18-year-old son, Seth, also shared a tribute to his dad, calling him his “hero.”

“There’s no one else on this earth that I would want to be my dad because no one can be half the man you were to me,” Seth wrote. “I’ll see you everyday when the sun rises and falls.”

Along with the two kids Brandon shared with Kelly — River, 11, and Remington, 9 — Brandon was also a father to Seth and his oldest daughter, Savannah.

Brandon’s cause of death was confirmed by People on Monday after a coroner reported that he died of natural causes while at home on hospice care after a battle with melanoma.
