Britney Spears’ Worried Friends & Family Planned Intervention To Convince Her To Get Help

Fans are worried about Britney Spears as her online behavior becomes increasingly erratic. And according to Page Six, it's not just those who are watching from afar who are concerned. A source close to the 41-year-old pop star has revealed that Britney's family and friends actually went so far as to plan an intervention to convince her to get treatment.

The insider claims several people were planning to talk to Britney about getting help.

Britney's husband, Sam Asghari, was reportedly teaming up with an interventionist and doctors to try to get Britney into treatment. It sounds like they were hoping she would agree to sequester herself at home for two months while being treated for an issue related to a medication.

There was no clarification as to whether it was a medication that she's taking or one that Sam had hoped she would start.

The intervention idea was then scrapped, and Britney met with a doctor instead.

TMZ claimed that Sam skipped the intervention when Britney agreed to meet with a medical professional on her own. Apparently that meeting "went well," and Sam has since been posting photos of him and his wife out and about, painting a much calmer picture than what's being portrayed in the media.

But sources say the decision to cancel the intervention may prove fatal.

On Friday, TMZ spoke to several people close to Britney, and all of them are alarmed over the news that the mother of two's planned intervention had been called off.

"This is 2008 all over again," one source said. "There is serious fear she is either going to die or kill someone. She is abusing caffeine, Adderall, and anything she can get her hands on. She is not taking her medication, which is essential to stabilize her mood, and she is unknowingly trying to self-medicate with other substances, which is exacerbating her mental illness."

Britney claims all this fuss is much ado about nothing.

Late Thursday, Britney directly addressed the reports of the intervention, posting her response on Instagram.

"It makes me sick to my stomach that it's even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough," she wrote in part. "I'm probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there's obviously a lot of people who don't wish me well!!!"

She also denies being in crisis.

Britney told her followers that she's doing the best she can, referencing her past issues and controversial conservatorship in the process.

"No folks, it's not 2007 … it's 2023 and I'm making my first homemade lasagna at home!!! I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room!!! As my hubby says it best: Don't believe everything you read!!! All that love right back at ya!!!"

We truly hope Britney is doing as well as she says she is. Even though the media has stirred up a lot of extra drama for her, it's clear from her own Instagram posts that something's not quite right at home.
