Brittany Mahomes Opens Up About the Overwhelming Amount of Hate She Gets on Social Media

It’s not easy being in the spotlight under constant criticism. At least, that’s what we’ve heard from several celebrities at this point. For Brittany Mahomes, wife of football star Patrick Mahomes and a star in her own right, she’s been navigating rumor and hateful comments, both which she addressed in a recent Q&A.

Last week, Brittany posted a call for a Q&A, and she took the time to answer several of questions, including some rumors.

At some point in the Q&A on Instagram, someone asked Brittany if she is expecting another baby.

“So you aren’t pregnant now?” one person asked. “I’m asking for my cousin who is trying to convince me that you are.”

Brittany just had her second baby, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, eight months ago, joining big sister Sterling Skye, who is 2 years old.

She’s not sure where the rumor that she was expecting again came from.

“I’m not really sure where this rumor started but no, I am not pregnant,” she responded to the question from a fan.

Earlier, another person asked Brittany if she and Patrick had plans to have more kids, which Brittany said she was asked a lot. Her answer? She’s not really sure.

“We aren’t sure honestly! Part of me says yes part of me says ehhhh maybe not!”

Brittany was asked a few other questions regarding life in her house.

She was asked about education for her kids and what life is like when her NFL star husband is “away so much.”

“Not easy but it is what it is,” the mom of two replied on what happens when Patrick is gone for chunks of time. “You learn and adapt as you go! He works hard and we are very appreciative of everything he does for our family,” she wrote.

And as for the person who asked about her plans for school when her kids are older, the fan was likely curious because of their busy lifestyle. Brittany didn’t have a for sure answer, which makes sense since her kids are young, but she said she was “leaning toward homeschool.”

Another person asked Brittany how she handles all the hate being in the spotlight.

It doesn’t take a lot of time looking at Brittany’s Instagram channel before you see a rude or hateful comment. Her posts are inundated with them, and it feels really unfair and intense.

People leave comments about the way she looks, how she dresses, critiques on her hair, and how supportive she is of her husband, and people are really mean.

“OMG! What happened to you?” one person questioned.

“I wish you would stop doing the lip liner,” another commenter wrote.

'Please go away Britt,' wrote someone else.

Other comments on several posts shared by Brittany include:

“Mother of two or escort?”

“That is the worst dress she has ever worn….besides Vegas!”

“Yikes… that look is not it girl.”

“Love you girl but you don’t know how to dress.”

“Why does it look like she smelled something bad.”

“Not a good representation of your faith. Very sorry to see these.”

Responding to the person who asked Brittney how she deals with all the hate, she shared a very real reply.

“It used to yes. But not anymore. I could give two s—s about people’s opinion of me that don’t even know me,” she wrote in response, adding a peace sign.

According to People, Brittney and her family are featured on the first season of Quarterback on Netflix, and in one episode, she addressed what it was like being in the spotlight.

“I was not prepared for this,” Brittany said of the intensity of life in the NFL. “And at such a young age. We were in love and I loved him with all of my heart. But, you know, I didn’t expect it to skyrocket this soon, and us kind of just being thrown into the fire like this.”
