What to Know
Frankly, it doesn’t matter that Casey Anthony was acquitted of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee’s murder — even now, 15 years later, many people still believe she’s guilty. And now that it seems that Casey is attempting to rebrand herself, there doesn’t appear to be a chance she’s going to be successful. She’s calling herself an activist and an ally on social media, but people simply aren’t buying it.
Casey has updated her social media bio.

People are calling attention to Casey Anthony’s Substack bio, which doesn’t even hint at the thing she’s actually known for: the trial involving Caylee’s death.
“Researcher. Consultant. Advocate. Activist. Author. LGBTQIA+ Ally,” says her bio. “We are the resistance. We do not bow to mediocre white men.”
Her profile picture appears to be a professional shot of her wearing a blazer and looking into the camera. If she hadn’t been involved in such a high profile trial, there would be no way of knowing about her past just by looking at her Substack, which she’s titled “Beyond Case.”
People are ready to chase her off the internet.

True crime podcaster Heather Ashley drew attention to Casey’s Substack bio with a post on Threads, and plenty of people have a few choice words for Casey and her rebrand.
“Maybe I’m old-fashioned… but I don’t think child murderers should be allowed to have social media,” one person replied to Heather’s post. Another said, “11K subscribers? How do 11K people think ‘well she only murdered one of her kids, let’s her hear out.'”
Of course, a jury famously determined that Casey was not guilty of killing her daughter, though in the years since, the jurors have said that their decision wasn’t because they truly believed she hadn’t done anything — it was because of a lack of evidence to convict her. Casey herself has maintained her innocence, though, including in a 2022 documentary called Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies.
Casey got plenty of flak for starting a TikTok account last year.

Casey first launched her social media rebrand in 2025, when she joined TikTok to reintroduce herself as a “legal advocate.”
“I am proverbially standing in the light, embracing this piece, still going to keep my privacy intact … and I will explain in great detail why it’s so important for people to protect their privacy,” Casey said in one of the first videos she shared on her account last March. “With the current climate in our country especially, it’s that much more important.”
Since then, Casey has continued to post on TIkTok and on her Substack… and for as much backlash as she’s getting, there are at least 11,000 people who are interested enough to subscribe to hear what she has to say, along with nearly 90,000 on TikTok.
