17 Celebs Who Shut Down Pregnancy Rumors in the Best Way

When it comes to celebrity gossip, there are two big areas of interest: who's dating who, and who is pregnant. Though we'd hope that by now, people would know better than to comment on or speculate about women's bodies, regardless of how famous they might be, there are new celebrity pregnancy rumors what seems like every day — and most of them end up being untrue.

As fun as it is to wonder who the next famous lady to become a mom will be, we totally understand that all that speculation and analysis gets old fast. After all, who wants thousands (if not millions) of strangers analyzing their body? That's why we really love to see a celeb who has the perfect comeback ready to combat those rumors, especially when they're not actually expecting.

Though some stars choose to ignore the chatter, others fight back. Read on for celebrities who shut down pregnancy rumors with the most perfect responses.

Hailey Bieber

After Hailey Bieber appeared at husband Justin Bieber's side at the 2022 Grammys, there were lots of rumors that she is expecting (and it wouldn't be the first time, either). She made it clear that she was fed up by them, writing in an Instagram comment amid the speculation, "I'm not pregnant — leave me alone," according to People.

Later, Hailey would take to TikTok to emphasize her plea. "I'm minding my business. I don't do anything, I don't say anything. Leave me alone, please."

Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney Kardashian has had to shut down pregnancy rumors pretty often, especially since she started dating Travis Barker. So it makes sense that, by the end of 2021, she was over it enough to simply respond to the speculation on Instagram by writing, "Are we really gonna do this every time I post a photo?"

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner was still responding to pregnancy rumors in her 40s. After she posted a picture wearing overalls in 2020, she let a fan know exactly what was up when they asked her if she was expecting.

"I am 48, have three healthy kids, and am not — and never will be — pregnant. We can lay that pupper to rest. Have [I] gained the COVID 19? Possibly. But that is another story," she wrote, adding a laughing emoji followed by several food emojis.

Tina Knowles

Going all the way back to 2010, Tina Knowles was the one who shut down the pregnancy rumors for daughter Beyoncé during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"I'm here to clear the rumors up. The truth is that it's not Beyoncé who's pregnant. It's me," she joked, adding, "With all the rumors, by now I should have five or six grandchildren."

Two years later, Beyoncé would welcome her first child, Blue Ivy.

Jennifer Aniston

For most of her career, Jennifer Aniston has been plagued by pregnancy rumors, and in a 2016 essay she wrote for HuffPost, she finally set the record straight.

She wrote: "For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I'm fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism,' the 'First Amendment,' and 'celebrity news.'"

Miley Cyrus

While Miley Cyrus was still married to Liam Hemsworth, she had to deal with her own round of pregnancy rumors, and her approach was taken with a good sense of humor. For context, at the time, an egg was the most liked photo on Instagram, and Miley used that to turn her response into one big pun.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen actually managed to put the pregnancy rumors to an end by getting out ahead of them. In a February 2022 Instagram post, she explained her changing body by letting her followers know that she was undergoing IVF.

"I wanted to let you guys know I'm balls deep in another IVF cycle to save as many eggos as I possibly can and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos," she wrote at the time. "I honestly don't mind the shots, they make me feel like a doctor/chemist but the bloating is a b—-, so I humbly beg you to stop asking if I'm pregnant because while I know it's said with excited, good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the opposite of pregnant!"

Paris Hilton

After there were rumors that Paris Hilton was expecting her first child with Carter Reum in 2021, she wasted no time letting everyone know that they were false. "The only thing in the oven at the moment is my 'Sliving Lasagna,'" she said on her podcast, This Is Paris.

Nikki Bella

In April 2021, fans were convinced that Nikki Bella was expecting her second child, but as she explained in a since-expired Instagram story, that was not the case — and she didn't love people analyzing her body like that, either.

"So a lot of people have asked me this since the weekend, sucks LOL," she wrote of the speculation, via Us Weekly. "Hormones, body changes, and holding 8 pounds of water weight!"

Natalie Portman

Though Natalie Portman already has two kids of her own, in early 2021 she was the subject of pregnancy rumors all over again. So she took to her Instagram Story for a mic drop moment.

"Hey, so I'm totally not pregnant, but apparently it's still OK in 2021 for anyone to speculate and comment on a woman's body shape whenever they want?" she wrote at the time, via Us Weekly.

Lili Reinhart

While Lili Reinhart was still dating her Riverdale costar Cole Sprouse, there was speculation that she was pregnant, and as a big advocate of body positivity, she put an end to it right away.

"It's unfortunate that one unflattering photo of my stomach circulating the internet causes hundreds of people to think that I'm pregnant," she wrote on her Instagram Story in 2018, via Glamour. "Nope. Not pregnant. This is just my body. And sometimes I'm bloated. Sometimes an unflattering photo is taken of me. Sometimes I go through periods of time where I gain weight."

Jessie J

As someone who's talked about her fertility battles in the past, it makes sense that Jessie J's tolerance for pregnancy rumors is very low, and she made that clear in 2022 when they came back around again.

"Stop commenting on people's weight," she wrote in her Instagram Story. "Just stop. Or telling someone they look pregnant for sure, or you look skinny, just anything, just stop. I see it so much on socials and I know it happens in real life."

Jessa Duggar

It makes sense that members of the Duggar family would frequently face pregnancy rumors — after all, having babies is what that family is all about. But that doesn't mean speculation about their bodies is something they want (or should have) to deal with.

After a fan commented on one of Jessa Duggar's Instagram photos saying they noticed a bump, she responded, "There's no baby behind the bump — only tacos. Thanks for asking."

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria has had to put an end to pregnancy rumors many times over her career, but one of her explanations was truly phenomenal.

"I saw some pictures of myself really fat on a boat and I have to tell you all I did was eat cheese," she said on Snapchat in 2017, via E! News. "Everybody is saying I'm pregnant and I'm not. I was just lactose intolerant apparently. I just had to share because my whole family is calling me asking me if I'm pregnant. Yes, I look pregnant, but that was just a ball of cheese in my stomach … everybody gets bloated."

Halsey

Before Halsey was actually pregnant with their first child, Ender, pregnancy rumors were just par for the course, especially after they posted a tweet hinting at a "big announcement." Later, Halsey had to double back and clarify that the announcement did not have to do with a baby.

"People think my last tweet is me hinting I'm pregnant. Which means I'm either: a. gaining weight b. acting weirder than usual. Jokes on u, I'm doing BOTH. However STILL not pregnant!" they wrote, according to Us Weekly.

Camila Cabello

After Camila Cabello posted a photo on Instagram holding her stomach, fans immediately jumped to conclusions. But she quickly reined them back in, writing in a comment, "Guys don't be crazy. I'VE BEEN TOURING AMERICA EATING DELICIOUS FOODS. LEAVE ME AND MY BELLY ALONE!"

Rihanna

Now, we know she actually was pregnant at the time, but in December 2021, Rihanna's conversation with a fan via DM made it seem like she wasn't. When the fan, Jen, asked Rihanna for an invite to the baby shower, she replied (according to Elle), "Haaaaa! Stawwwp! You ain't came to the first 10 baby showers! Y'all breed me every year dammit lol."
