Fans Are Calling David Corenswet a Real-Life Superman After This Moment at the ‘Supergirl’ Premiere

David Corenswet doesn’t just play Superman in the movie — he has real-life superhero skills too. A moment that unfolded on the red carpet at the premiere of Supergirl is going viral after David was seen swooping in to save costar Milly Alcock when a photographer got handsy with her. This is a man who takes his role very seriously, and fans are obsessed.

A photographer touched Milly’s bare back at the premiere.

A DC Comics Universe fan account on X shared a video from the premiere on Monday that is now going viral. In the clip, David and Milly were talking with their costars, Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan, when a photographer standing nearby reached out to tap Milly on the back to ask her to turn around so he could take a photo of the group.

David immediately stepped in, putting up his hand and moving so he could stand between Milly and the photographer, who backed off right away. (Of course he backed off. Superman told him to.)

It’s impossible to hear what words were exchanged, but David’s body language alone communicated that he was not happy.

Fans are praising him for his quick thinking.

As if fans didn’t already love David enough, he’s also earned major chivalry points for this move, and he is now being showered with praise all over social media.

“God, I love how David jumped in instantly,” one fan wrote on X.

“I’ve always known David to be such a stand up guy long before his Superman era,” said another post.

Yet another fan pointed out that this whole interaction proved that women are treated differently in public situations like this one: “And this is what women are talking about. There is no reason for you to put your hands on her. All the other photographers got her attention without touching her.”

David also gushed over Milly’s talent at the premiere.

In a video from the red carpet that Entertainment Tonight shared on Instagram, David shared that it was Milly’s “attitude” and “edge” that would make her the perfect actress to play Supergirl.

“She walks in a room and you think, ‘oh, too cool for school, surely,’ but then, very sweet, very hardworking,” he said.

He also had the chance to impart some of his superhero knowledge to her before she began filming the movie.

David said, “The one piece of advice that I gave to Milly when she asked about flying is that it’s quite painful to fly and you end up with a lot of bumps and bruises. But you go home very proud of those bumps and bruises.”

Sounds like the Superman we know and love!
