Donald Trump’s Appearance at the US Open Created Mass Chaos for Other Celebrity Guests

On Sunday, President Donald Trump arrived at the US Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York to watch the men’s singles final, but not without causing some significant disruptions along the way. According to what sources told Page Six, Trump’s US Open appearance caused a chaotic situation for fellow spectators who were trying to go to the match as well — including other celebrities who faced massive inconveniences as they tried to get into the stadium themselves.

With the president of the United States in attendance, of course, elevated security measures were being taken at the stadium, but the situation quickly devolved into what one source described as an “absolute s— show.”

“Cars can’t get into parking lots and people are walking miles. Even celebs are having to wait like normies,” a source told Page Six.

Footage from the outside of the stadium seemed to paint the same picture, showing huge crowds waiting to get inside. The match was ultimately pushed back to accommodate the delays, but of course, that didn’t speed up the process of getting everyone through the entrance any faster — including those celebrities the source mentioned.

The insider added that stars including Michael Douglas, Ben Stiller, and Catherine Zeta-Jones were all “waiting in line, like everyone else,” while Will & Grace star Debra Messing “sat in a car for an hour and they wouldn’t let her out.”

Eventually, everyone was able to make it into the building, but it doesn’t sound like it was a fun experience getting there for anyone at the match.

Meanwhile, videos from the match show Trump being met with boos once he made it to his seat — and when he was shown on the screens during the national anthem.

As Page Six pointed out, the United States Tennis Association released a statement ahead of Sunday asking those broadcasting the match not to show any booing that may happen with Trump in the stadium.

“We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s attendance in any capacity, including ENG (Electronic News Gathering) coverage,” the statement read.
