Since Ozzy Osbourne’s death on July 22, all eyes have been on his family as they continue to mourn such a huge loss. Though Jack and Kelly Osbourne have always lived the most public lives, Ozzy was actually a father of six. He shared three of those children with wife Sharon Osbourne. Jack and Kelly’s eldest sister, Aimee, chose not to appear on the family’s popular MTV reality series, The Osbournes, back in the early 2000s. According to what Jack said not too long ago, that may be where the fracture in their relationship with her truly began.
Jack shared an update on his relationship with Aimee just before their dad died.
While appearing on the Disrespectfully podcast on July 16, Jack shared an update on where things stand between him and his older sister today.
“We’re not close at all,” Jack admitted. “We don’t have a great relationship. She’ll be the first to tell you that. So, it’s no secret.”
She’s always been more private than her siblings.
Because she was more private, she didn’t appear in The Osbournes. When the show was filming, Jack said Aimee was going for more of a “obscure, mysterious, moody” image as a musician. She apparently didn’t think appearing on the show would do much to help her reach her career goals.
At the same time, she also didn’t want to seem like she was cashing in on her father’s fame.
“She deemed doing a show on MTV as low-hanging fruit, and she was like, ‘I’m not going to be seen riding coattails.’ That’s how she perceived it,” Jack said on the podcast. “Once the show was hugely successful, I think she was like, ‘I can’t now come on, because I don’t want to be seen even more as jumping on the bandwagon.’ So she just dug her heels in and wanted to be relatively private and obscure.”
Aimee did attend Ozzy’s funeral.

It’s not often that Aimee is seen in public these days, but she made an exception after the death of her father. In photos from the funeral procession, she can be seen morning alongside Sharon, Jack, and Kelly.
It’s good to see that they were able to come together at a difficult time like this, especially to be there to support their mother.
Ozzy’s cause of death was officially revealed this week.
On August 5, a death certificate obtained by The New York Times revealed that Ozzy’s official cause of death was an “out of hospital cardiac arrest” and “acute myocardial infarction.” The certificate also noted that he suffered from Parkinson’s disease as well as coronary artery disease.
Aimee was the one who submitted the death certificate in London.
