‘Real Housewives’ Star Jen Shah Has Been Sentenced to 6.5 Years in Federal Prison

Reality star Jen Shah now knows her fate after being convicted in a wire fraud case. On Tuesday, a judge finally handed down the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star's sentence: She'll be serving nearly seven years behind bars, and she's due to report to begin serving sooner than you might think.

Jen was in federal court Friday to learn her fate.

According to TMZ, Jen appeared in the NYC courthouse dressed to impress as she waited for the conclusion of her legal journey that began with a 2021 arrest for her alleged role in a telemarketing fraud scheme that targeted senior citizens.

While Jen initially pleaded not guilty, she eventually owned up to her role and pleaded guilty to some of the charges levied against her.

She agreed to a plea bargain for a reduced sentence.

In July, Jen changed her plea and agreed to cop to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in order to get prosecutors to drop the money laundering charge.

This dropped her sentence from a possible 14 years behind bars to just the six and a half she ended up with. It likely also lowered her restitution from the $9 million she was expected to pay.

After her prison time, she'll be subject to supervised release.

Jen's relationship with the long arm of the law won't end in 2029 with her sentence. Instead, Jen has also been sentenced to five years of supervised release.

The news clearly wasn't what she was hoping to hear, because TMZ said she broke down sobbing in court.

Jen promises to atone for her crimes.

In a statement released by her attorney Priya Chaudhry, Jen shared just how much she regretted the things she did and the people she hurt.

"Jen has faith in our justice system, understands that anyone who breaks the law will be punished, and accepts this sentence as just," the lawyer said. "Jen will pay her debt to society and when she is a free woman again, she vows to pay her debt to the victims harmed by her mistakes."

The judge gave Jen some time to settle her affairs.

Jen is supposed to surrender to law enforcement officials on February 17 before heading to Texas, where she's expected to serve her term.

The RHOSLC alum may be reeling from the news, but hopefully she's taking solace in the fact that things could've been so much worse. After all, the feds were hoping to see her put away for a decade!

Here's hoping Jen's victims feel that justice was served.
