Jessa Duggar Is Criticized for Her ‘Shameful’ Treatment of Her Son Henry on His Birthday

Jessa Duggar is no stranger to criticism about her parenting skills, and now, it's extending to the way she celebrates her children's birthdays. After Jessa paid tribute to her son, Henry, in honor of him turning 6, she's getting called out for not doing enough for the birthday boy.

Jessa shared a birthday update about Henry this week.

Sharing a photo of him enjoying an ice cream cone, Jessa called him a "ray of sunshine."

"He’s the first one up in the morning, grabbing a book and sitting next to me on the couch as I have my quiet time. He has a great love for learning and he devours all the books he can get his hands on," she wrote in her post. "He has a super creative mind, and he’s constantly inventing new Lego creations. He’s so gentle and caring towards his baby sister and absolutely adores her. He’s both tender and bold, loving and full of laughter. We’re so thankful to God for this little man!"

Henry's birthday was February 6.

That means that Jessa's post was a bit delayed, rather than sharing it on his actual birthday, and that led to some of her critics raising an eyebrow or two, as The Sun reported.

"It took Jessa over two weeks to post for Hank's birthday LOL," one person commented online, according to the site.

"At least she remembered this year. This photo looks like it's from October too," another person wrote.

Others thought Jessa made Henry's birthday all about her.

Jessa's mention of her "quiet time" didn't go unnoticed by her critics, with some bringing up that it was a bit odd that her favorite thing to do with her son was sit quietly, each immersed in a separate activity.

"Love when someone can make a bday caption for their child about themselves," one person wrote.

This isn't the first time this has happened.

Last year, Jessa was also criticized for putting in low effort for Henry's birthday. In a YouTube vlog she shared at the time, she gave him his gifts in boxes from Amazon, without wrapping them first, which truly irked some fans who believed he deserved wrapped gifts like most kids get on their birthdays.

Instagram isn't real life.

And Jessa has been sharing less and less on social media lately, so it's not surprising that her tribute to Henry didn't come until after the family was done celebrating.

Here's hoping Henry enjoyed his birthday and was showered with love (and gifts), even if the photos weren't shared online.
