Jon & Kate Plus 8 is reportedly making its way back to the television, as announced by TLC, but fans are not too thrilled about the show's return. The show first premiered in 2007. After Jon and Kate divorced in 2009, the show became Kate Plus 8, and it ran until September 2011. The show then made a brief return four years later in 2015 and ran for three seasons until 2017. So why the return of focus to the Gosselin family now, many fans are wondering? TLC seemingly wants to "open the vault."

Yet many people weren't too thrilled.
Many people in the comments voiced their dissatisfaction with TLC's decision to bring the show back on air.
"@tlc y'all could have kept this one in the archives. Don't no media corporation work harder than y'all to expose folks to domestic abuse ♀️," one person wrote.
"Why would anybody want to rewatch this knowing what the children went through," another person asked.
"TLC pls read the room," someone else shared.
Jon and Kate are living separate lives.
Jon and Kate have been enjoying their separate lives for a while. Collin and Hannah live with their dad while the rest of the kids — Mady, Cara, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel — stayed with their mom. Mady and Cara have since moved to New York.
Jon is dating someone, but it doesn't appear that Kate is in a relationship. She had a show, Kate Plus Date, in 2019 as she attempted to search for love again.
Jon says he has 'no access' to the other kids.
In a 2023 interview on the "Jon & Kate: Family Circus" episode of Vice TV's Dark Side of the 2000s, Jon said "I have no access to the kids I'm estranged from. I have no idea why they stopped coming. I have no answers. Like, none. It's the worst."
