Kate Middleton Strictly Forbids Her Kids From Shouting at All Times

With the exception of Prince Louis' cheekier moments, Kate Middleton and Prince William's children always seem exceptionally well-behaved when they're out and about with their parents. As any mom out there knows, that doesn't happen magically; parenting that produces those kinds of results can take a lot of time and patience. And maybe it has a little something to do with one rule that the Princess of Wales strictly enforces at home: no shouting — ever!

Kate has always had household rules for her children.

That's pretty standard in families everywhere, though; you don't have to grow up royal to remember the rules your parents were sticklers about.

For Kate, that rule just so happens to be about the kids using their inside voices.

"Shouting is absolutely 'off limits' for the children and any hint of shouting at each other is dealt with by removal," a source told The Sun via The Mirror.

The kids also know exactly what will happen if they break the rule.

It's called a "sofa chat," and it sounds like how a lot of parents who follow the gentle parenting philosophy handle discipline.

"The naughty child is taken away from the scene of the row or disruption and talked to calmly by either Kate or William," the source said. "Things are explained and consequences outlined and they never shout at them."

Kate has always been a hands-on mom.

She's well-known for the traditions she shares with her kids, such as baking their birthday cakes herself each year, and has famously insisted on doing the bulk of the parenting duties — including school drop-offs and pickups — that might have otherwise been relegated to the family's nanny.

Her mom is also an active grandma in the kids' lives.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Mirror that Carole Middleton spends a lot of time with George, Charlotte, and Louis — even on weekdays.

"Catherine's mum Carole frequently joins the princess in school day afternoons to watch George, Charlotte and Louis playing football," Seward said.

So far, it seems like Kate's parenting methods are truly working.

After all, the whole world has fallen in love with her three kids. And even though they are generally very well-behaved during their scattered royal engagements, we also see them acting goofy enough to know that they're also given the space to just be kids, despite their royal lineage. Isn't that what matters most?
