Kim Kardashian Goes Full-On Conspiracy Theorist With Claims About 1969 Moon Landing

On a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian shared a theory that has fans convinced she spends a bit too much time online. The 45-year-old Skims founder, who also recently completed law school, confidently asserted that she believes the 1969 moon landing was “fake.” And for those who doubt her, she encourages them to “go to TikTok” and “see for yourself.” OK, Kim.

Kim said she’s read ‘a million articles’ on the topic.

Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin became the first people to land on the moon in 1969. Conspiracy theorists still try to claim that the whole thing never happened, and apparently, Kim Kardashian is among them. During the October 30 episode of the reality show, Kim tried to convince her All’s Fair costar Sarah Paulson to believe the conspiracy theory.

“I’m sending you, so far, a million interviews with both Buzz Aldrin and… the other one,” Kim said to Sarah, referring to Armstrong. Kim then explained the content of one of the interviews she was sending Sarah. “This girl says, ‘What was the scariest moment?’ And [Aldrin] goes, ‘There was no scary moment, cause it didn’t happen. It could’ve been scary, but it wasn’t, cause it didn’t happen,'” Kim explained.

This interview has been taken out of context.

Kim is not the first person to try to use this interview as evidence that the moon landing didn’t actually happen, but as the New York Post reported, Buzz did not mean to suggest the moon landing was fake. Instead, when asked about “the scariest moment,” Buzz explained that a scary moment “didn’t happen,” meaning nothing scary happened.

But because of comments like these from Buzz, Kim truly believes the moon landing “didn’t happen.”

Kim made it very clear that she truly believes the whole thing was ‘fake.’

A producer asked her to confirm her beliefs on the topic. She reiterated, “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake. I’ve seen a few videos [of] Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews.”

Kim went on to list some more “evidence” to support the conspiracy theory. “Why does Buzz Aldrin say it didn’t happen?” she said. “There’s no gravity on the moon — why is the flag blowing? The shoes that they have in the museum that they wore on the moon [have] a different [foot]print than the photos. Why are there no stars?”

While Kim did admit that people would surely call her “crazy” due to this belief, she also felt like people would “say I’m crazy no matter what.” Addressing the skeptics directly, Kim said, “But like, go to TikTok. See for yourself.”

Critics called her claims ‘dumb’ but also said we shouldn’t pay attention to what she thinks.

“In other news … No one gives a flying [expletive] what Kim Kardashian has to say on anything scientific,” one critic wrote on Reddit. Sarcastically, someone else said “the conspiracy community” must be so honored “to have such a brilliant mind join their forces.” After all, Kim’s views on the topic add “such depth and credibility” to the conversation, they joked.

And while those who reacted to Kim’s claims did not support them in any way, they also weren’t all that surprised by her views. “She doesn’t live in our shared reality,” another critic argued. “She lives in a fantasy that bends to her every whim.”
