She's had two miscarriages.

Lea shared that had "two back-to-back very early failed pregnancies," which was something they didn't expect to happen. "I had never had a miscarriage before," she told Katherine. "The first one, I was like, 'That was weird.' When it happened again right away, I was like, 'Wait a second. Something is wrong.'"

A doctor's visit led to a diagnosis.

The singer went on to explain that another loss came while she was working, saying that it was super challenging to "process what we were experiencing at the same time, which was very painful." She decided to visit a doctor, which led to an endometriosis diagnosis.

Lea had to undergo surgery.

To help with her condition, Lea underwent surgery and was given "so many drugs and medications and [got] one thousand shots," she shared. Eventually, following the treatment, she conceived her second child.

She opened up about the differences between pregnancies.

In a recent interview with People, the star talked about the differences between her first and second pregnancies, especially since she had her son during COVID.

"It was an incredibly different experience, being pregnant with Ever. We were in California, and we were in a pandemic," she said. "So it was a lot of just hanging out at home and very minimal activity. And now, it's New York, it's the busy streets. I'm working, I'm a mom, and it's very different."

She's grateful her loved ones get to experience her pregnancy this time.

"None of my friends saw me pregnant, ever," Lea added. "You know, my best friend, Jonathan [Groff], never saw me pregnant. He wasn't with me, and my dad was in New York, he was on the East Coast [during] the pandemic. So to be able to have this experience and share this time with my friends and family has been really wonderful, and not something that I got to do before."
