Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos’ Second ‘Live’ Show Was Even More Painful Than the First

When Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest revealed that Kelly's husband Mark Consuelos was set to replace Ryan as cohost on the pair's morning show, it seemed like ABC was looking at a smash hit. Instead, it seems fans have had enough of the husband and wife duo after just two episodes, and they're not exactly being shy about their complaints on Twitter.

Mark's first day on the job was Monday.

Mark joined his wife on her show this week, kicking off his new run at the big desk by sharing some of the details of the couple's home life.

Fans weren't feeling the love for the affable couple, who have been together since meeting on the set of All My Children in 1995, with some people even calling them out on Twitter for their "phony and inauthentic" behavior.

They must not have read the many complaints about their first episode because they were right back at it on Tuesday.

Kelly and Mark kicked off Tuesday's show by once again delving into their personal lives, with the mother of three complaining about how her husband keeps her awake at night with his snoring.

Much to the horror of viewers, Kelly even pulled out her phone and played a recording of Mark sawing logs in his sleep.

People think Mark works better as a guest host than a permanent host.

"Gosh I don't know with them together," tweeted one person. "I am not a fan … Kelly and Mark look uncomfortable together, it's hard to watch. Mark as a fill in cohost was fun to watch. This isn't fun to watch anymore. Need Ryan back."

Another complained about how much Kelly talks over her husband. "Painful! When does Mark get to finish his own sentences?" the commenter wrote. "Annoying, changed the channel. Bye-bye Live!"

Neither Mark nor Kelly appear to be aware of the mixed reviews they're getting.

After Monday's show, Mark and Kelly both spoke with Us Weekly about their debut together. "This show today truly felt like home," he gushed after Monday's show. "I always feel at home with Kelly but [working] together this morning just felt so right."

For her part, Kelly echoed the sentiments, appearing oblivious of how cringeworthy people online found their efforts.

"Mark did amazing! Better than I even thought. I look forward to a long TV partnership with him," she said.

We'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

A common theme among critics was that Mark and Kelly spent too much time talking about their personal lives and not enough time addressing the bigger issues happening around the world.

It's only the couple's second day on the job. There's likely still time for them to listen to the naysayers and make changes before they start to really lose viewership. Their track record shows that Mark and Kelly have the chemistry to make magic — hopefully they don't miss the mark.
