Married at First Sight stars Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner are officially parents of twins! The couple, who married sight unseen in Season 1 of the Lifetime reality series, welcomed two baby boys to their family on September 18. And Jamie recently shared her “scary” twin birth story with intimate photos from the labor and delivery.
Jamie and Doug married in 2014 as strangers. Ultimately, they fell in love and stayed married. They welcomed their daughter, Henley, in 2017, followed by a son, Hendrix, in 2020. Sadly, Jamie experienced a miscarriage with her first pregnancy at 17 weeks, followed by other pregnancy losses after welcoming Hendrix. Doug and Jamie considered the twins their “miracle babies” because it took them three years to become pregnant with their sons.

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner announced the birth of their twins on September 18.
On the day their twin boys were born, Doug and Jamie announced their arrival in an exclusive interview with People. Hawkins Tyler Hehner was born head first at 6:05 p.m. on September 18, weighing 6 lbs., 4 oz. and measuring 19.9 inches long. Meanwhile, his twin brother, Huxley James Hehner, arrived breech at 6:08 p.m.. He weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz, and was 19.7 inches long.
On September 21, Jamie shared photos from the labor and delivery, along with her twin birth story.
A few days after becoming a family of six, Jamie turned to Instagram to share intimate photos and more details of her twin birth story. “Baby A was born normally. I pushed him out so fast.💨,” the new-again mom wrote in her lengthy update. “Baby B was born BREECH.😱 My spectacular doc reached in to my belly (no joke🤯) & pulled him out feet first while I pushed with alllll my effin’ might so his head didn’t get stuck.💯”
The first moments after her second baby was born were 'scary.'
“It was a scary moment at first bc he was quite stunned and didn’t cry immediately,” Jamie wrote of the second twin. “But when he finally kinda ‘came to’ & I heard his little squeal I just lost it.”
She added, “I can’t even describe how good it felt to hear them both crying safely in my arms after all these years praying for them & then the last 9 months praying they’d stick, grow and be healthy! 🙏🙏🙏.”
Although her birth plan didn't play out like she had hoped, Jamie still declared it a 'win.'
In her post, Jamie hinted that she would share more details about her twin labor and delivery at a different time. She also acknowledged that things didn’t go according to her birth plan.
“My labor and delivery didn’t go at all as I wanted … but my ultimate ‘birth plan’ & goal was to have safe and healthy babies and of course safe and healthy me as well so I can take care of all four of my kiddos,” she wrote. “And we got that so it’s a win in my book!🙏❤️👏.”
She also shared a peek at her 'bad' diastasis recti.
In her carousel of photos, Jamie included snaps of her pushing and each twin arriving. The doting mom also included a shot of both boys swaddled and resting on her chest with Doug beside her. For the last two pictures, Jamie shared a look at her belly post-delivery.
Diastasis recti happens when “the rectus abdominis muslces (six-pack ab muscles) separate during pregnancy from being stretched,” according to the Cleveland Clinic, but can be repaired with special exercises to help the separation close.
She explained in the comments, “Last pic – my stomach – these boys gave me some BAD diastasis recti👀😅 … THEY ARE WORTH IT ALLLLLLL though!!! 💯🙏🤰👶👶❤️.”
