Miss Universe Contestant Rushed to Hospital After Brutal Fall Off Stage

A horrifying clip of an incident that occurred during the Miss Universe preliminary competition has been circulating on social media. During the preliminary evening gown round in Thailand on November 19, Gabrielle Henry, who is representing Jamaica, fell off the stage and was rushed to the hospital. Videos circulating on social media show Miss Universe Jamaica walking across the stage in a sparkly orange gown before suddenly falling to the ground.

She is currently receiving medical care.

In an update shared via social media, Miss Universe Jamaica confirmed that Gabrielle fell from the stage and was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital. The organization did not share a ton of details about Gabrielle’s injuries, but they did say that she does not appear to be “suffering from any life-threatening injuries.”

According to the update, “medical professionals are attending to her care” and “continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery.”

The organization concluded its statement with, “We kindly ask everyone to stay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care. We thank everyone for their outpouring of love, support, and continued prayers.”

The owner of the pageant also shared an update.

Raul Rocha, the current owner of the Miss Universe pageant, took to Instagram to assure everyone that Gabrielle is doing OK after the scary fall. On November 19, Raul wrote that he visited “the hospital where she is being treated” and “was there with her family and her.”

He continued with, “Thankfully, there are no broken bones and she is under good care. She will remain under observation for the rest of the night and we will remain in touch with her family to support her.”

Ahead of the competition, Gabrielle was clearly looking forward to representing her country. In an Instagram post shared the day before her fall, she wrote, “It is crazy to imagine that just a few weeks ago I was preparing for the Miss Universe stage, and now I’m here! ✨️ All the emotions, the rush of excitement, the joy, reside right here with me as I prepare to represent my beloved country.”

On the Miss Universe Instagram page, Gabrielle is described as “a physician and advocate” who “merges science with service through her work in ophthalmology and her foundation supporting the visually impaired.”

Additionally, she is “a vocalist and dedicated humanitarian” and “represents Jamaica with grace, purpose, and a commitment to expanding accessibility and empowerment worldwide.”
