Millennials, get ready for a heavy dose of nostalgia. Ten years after they broke up — and 20 years after they first started dating — Nelly and Ashanti are officially back together. How has it been 20 years since they first started dating? Doesn’t matter, because it’s starting to feel like 2003 all over again.
The pair has been seen getting cozy several times over the last few months, leading the public to speculate that maybe the sparks of romance were being ignited once again. But now, we know that the sparks of romance have become a flame of love, because they both confirmed that they are indeed dating again.

Nelly confirmed the relationship himself.
During an appearance on the TV show Boss Moves With Rasheeda, hosts Rasheeda and Kirk Frost asked the rapper about the status of his relationship with the singer.
"Yeah, we cool again," he said, flashing a knowing smile. "I think it surprised both of us though. It wasn't anything that I don't think was planned."
They both did a lot of growing during their time apart.
Nelly admitted that the 10 years they spent apart made getting back together much easier.
"I think we both were pretty much doing what we do, but sometimes being separate you understand one another more," he said. "You be like, 'Yo, let me see exactly what they see.' You know, because we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. We know we wrong but we going to stand on it. But we all a victim to that."
Their careers might have played a part in the end of their relationship.
Their relationship now is "no pressure," which makes it different than it had been in the past.
"Before I felt like both of us were doing what we were doing before career-wise, and when you got so many people in the middle of it, it can be tough," he said.

Ashanti is 'happy' about rekindling their romance.
On the red carpet for last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, Ashanti was also asked about their relationship. She rocked a handbag featuring a throwback photo of the couple while she posed on the red carpet.
"This is where we first exchanged numbers. I was like, 'Oh, this would be cute,'" she told Today. "Everything is lining up in the universe. So I'm happy."
It's good to see them back together.
The confirmation comes after months of the couple giving us little teasers of a relationship. Nelly shared a video of them together singing Usher’s "Nice and Slow" after seeing him play in Las Vegas, and by summer, they were spotted together on the red carpet at the birthday celebration for Pierre "P" Thomas, CEO of Quality Control Music.
