Prince William & Kate Middleton Reportedly Worried About Their Safety After Windsor Castle Break-In

All parents worry about keeping their children safe, but as the future king and queen of England, Prince William and Kate Middleton are especially attuned to the risks their three kids may be facing by living in the spotlight. And unfortunately, after the Windsor estate was broken into, experts are saying that the Prince and Princess of Wales are especially stressed that their family could be in danger.

Earlier this week, news broke that a break-in took place on royal property.

Masked burglars managed to break into the Windsor Estate in October, though what happened only became public this week. Their target was the farm on property, which was just five minutes from where Will, Kate, and their three children were asleep in their home, Adelaide Cottage.

“Offenders entered a farm building and made off with a black Isuzu pickup and a red quad bike. They then made off towards the Old Windsor/Datchet area,” said Thames Valley Police in a statement. “No arrests have been made at this stage and an investigation is ongoing.”

The incident has only served to stress Will and Kate out more than usual.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that Will and Kate are already experiencing “immense stress” from Kate’s cancer battle this year, so this was really the “last thing” they needed.

“Who on Earth could sleep well at night knowing this sort of violation of their safety has taken place?” Hilary said. “Supposedly, armed guards have been [previously] removed because they were viewed as unpleasant for the tourists and the public to see. Surely, tourists would be calm and happy to see the royal family protected by armed guards!”

A source mentioned that things could have been much worse.

Another royal expert, Neil Sean, told the outlet that a source told him that the burglary could have taken “a far more sinister turn.”

“The fact that [the burglars] got so far inside Windsor grounds was very alarming, particularly for William. Naturally, [he] is worried about any stress and concern about his wife, and of course, his father,” Neil said.

William wanted to keep the situation low key.

“William was very keen to keep this under wraps until the situation was concluded as he didn’t want to cause any alarm,” Neil said. “For now, security is at higher alert at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, and Adelaide Cottage
only Prince George was aware of the situation as the other two are considered too young to be told.”

That might be for the best, considering how easy it would be for Charlotte and Louis’ imaginations to run away with them over something like this.

Will and Kate probably aren't going anywhere, though.

“Their choice to reside at Adelaide Cottage reflected a desire for a balance between privacy and accessibility. Such incidents, though unnerving, are unlikely to deter them from their commitment to a relatively grounded family life,” British broadcaster Jonathan Sacerdoti told Fox.

This could cause the palace to up their security, though — something like this should never happen again.
