It's clear everyone's been loving Netflix's Queen Charlotte. Between the epic costumes, the steamy sex scenes, and the four-legged side-characters, people can't get enough of the show. Now, fans can get some insight into what was going on when the cameras weren't rolling that made working on this hit Bridgerton spin-off so much fun for the cast.

Filming was 'ruff' for certain characters.
According to BuzzFeed, a single dog named Victoria was used for the queen's beloved Pomeranians. Victoria's audition tape landed on Sam Clemmet's lap and he was immediately sold. "She was the most well-behaved puppy I think I have ever met," he said in a statement that is quite contrary to the feelings of the character he portrays.
Golda Rosheuvel's experience was slightly different with the pooches she palled around with. She confessed to being peed on multiple times while filming that one Christmas tree scene … yuck!
The costumes were the real deal.
One of the best things about any period drama is getting to see the amazing costumes inspired by clothing of the past. According to India Amarteifio, the actors and actresses got into character by wearing "all the authentic gear" under their costumes.
Some of the gowns were so heavy that they needed to call in reinforcements. One of Charlotte's coronation outfits ended up being so heavy that India had to wear a back brace and then get sewn into the dress. Hope she remembered to go to the bathroom first!
Lord and Lady Danbury needed a bouncy ball to pull off their steamy sex scenes.
Arsema Thomas says one of the things fans didn't get to see when they were seeing, well, just about everything else, was the bouncy ball that was kept between her and Cyril Nri whenever they were getting busy on screen.
This made things a lot more comfortable for both actors, and Arsema said Cyril would even crack jokes as soon as the director called "cut!"
The series draws inspiration from another family in distress.
Any similarities you notice between Queen Charlotte's family and the Roy family from Succession were intentional, according to Golda.
"In Succession, you have these three siblings, who, on the surface, you think hate each other. Because their language is one of quite violent insults," she explained. "But when one sibling is hit or talked about, or whatever, they all band around to support them. That was really fascinating to me."
She drew from the Roy family dynamic when creating the one within Charlotte's family.
