First, Jennifer Aniston chops off her famous, golden locks (the result of getting a Brazilian blowout), and now, it's been revealed that she also got a weird ear cartilage piercing right before the haircut. Jen and her good friend, makeup artist Gucci Westman, apparently did it together, as Gucci shared a photo of herself and Jen on Instagram with the caption, "Me and #jenniferaniston got our ears pierced today!!!"
Granted, the haircut was unintentional, the result of hair styling gone awry. However, we can't help but wonder … is Jen going through a bit of a style crisis? Is she attempting to reinvent herself as the new and improved, edgy Jen? Is she just having fun? These are the questions that weigh on us all today, folks.
Well, we may have one clue to explain it all. Speaking about her new haircut to Popsugar, she explained:
I was just ready for a change. I was ready for something new, to get it out of my face, so I could have a bit of an easier go at it.
So maybe the piercing was along the same lines … Something new! A change! Why not? We're all entitled to mix things up now and then … However, if I were Jen Aniston, I'd personally do that by getting a fabu new, right-off-the-runway, couture wardrobe. NOT the kind of piercing most people get when they're 17 and come to regret by the time they're 20. I know, that was snarky, but come on — it's a little cringe-worthy, right? It just doesn't seem like age-appropriate or A-list star-appropriate-style experimentation.
Still, whatever makes her happy! At least hair grows back — and piercings can always close up!
