Snack Time Lies on the Rise

What did you have for a snack today? Some of your kids' carrots? If I have to fess up, I'll admit I had carrots. If I really fess up, I'll admit I ate an apple cider donut, too.

If you're like me, you're not alone.

Lots of people lie about their snack choices according to an article in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior.

Here's the thing: People who say they're eating Frito's and Ding Dongs really will gobble down unhealthy snacks. But 49 percent of us say we'll reach for healthy options, and 27 percent of us do not.

We're fibbing.

We're the Twinkie eaters who tell everyone we're popping edemame.

It's not like me to eat an apple cider donut in the middle of the day, but I don't expect anyone to believe me. I'm going to check out one my favorite groups, Healthy Weight Loss, for tips to get me back on track.

Be honest. Are you a snack time fibber?
