The vlogger that started the nail polish mountain phenomenon is back with another version of the horrifying challenge: clear polish mountain.
Cristine of Simply Nailogical wasn't satisfied with the 116 coats of polish she previously layered on her poor nail beds. She had to come back for more #polishmountain action — but with a twist.
After many haunted, sleepless nights, Cristine decided she had to return to polish mountain.
She left a piece of herself on the gooey peaks.
But she was stuck. How could she top her original polish mountain masterpiece?
Copycats were schooling Cristine in her own polish mountain game.
One Youtuber managed to paint her nails with 250+ coats of polish.
*starts screaming, never stops*
But this polish princess wasn't going down without a fight.
Reclaim #polishmountain, baby!
Cristine decided to go where no polish mountain pioneer had gone before. Get ready for CLEAR polish mountain.
Cristine set out on her polish journey at 11:42 am, stretching her hands for a long day of polishing.
If her last polish mountain mission taught her anything, it's that painting 100+ coats is hella time-consuming.
One stroke, and the polish stacking began.
Inspiration suddenly struck. Cristine decided to use a blue sparkly polish for the first few coats to create the illusion of "water" at the base of the mountain.
Big mistake.
27 coats in, Cristine realized her entire nail looked like a deep sea even though she only used two coats of blue.
Cristine gave viewers the gift of premature peel porn as she started her trek over.
So at 4:25, Cristine began her journey again.
Because she's a warrior, damnit.
But she decided to keep the blue on her pinky as an "experiment."
Part 2 was fueled by many snack breaks.
And Snapchat breaks.
And beverage breaks.
Halfway through her #clearpolishmountain, Cristine decided to add a few cute ocean stickers between layers.
Then at 61 coats, her boyfriend made a horrifying realization: "It's kinda like a snow globe."
Dear god. Is #clearpolishmountain the same thing as SNOW GLOBE NAILS?
Holy shit. Those ARE snow globe nails.
The horror!
We (almost) hoped Cristina would fail to complete the mission.
But finally after 107 coats, our worst nail nightmare came alive.
For clarification, Cristine refers to "top coat" as "tacos."
Cristine reached 134 layers on her blue "sea nail."
Colorful OR clear, #polishmountain is just as horrible as we remember.
But the worst (and best) part? THE PEEL.
*shudders*
So gross, yet so satisfying.
And at 3:27 am, Cristine the Polish Mountain Warrior finally clocked out.
Congrats on another polish mountain feat, Cristine.
We're scared of what you'll come up with next.
