Report Alleges Meghan Markle’s ‘As Ever’ Is Selling Another Brand’s Tea at Higher Price

Ahead of her rosé launch, Meghan Markle has come under fire for allegedly selling another brand’s tea at a higher price. The Duchess of Sussex launched her first line of lifestyle products under her As Ever brand on April 2, 2025. On June 20, the brand had its second product drop, which included several types of tea. However, a new report suggests that those who missed out on buying the tea before it sold out might be able to get something quite similar from another brand.

Meghan allegedly gets her tea from another company.

According to the Daily Mail, drinking tea sold by As Ever might be similar to drinking tea sold by the Republic of Tea, an American tea company based in Larkspur, California. The news outlet alleges that the Republic of Tea appears to be Meghan’s tea supplier.

So far, As Ever has listed three types of tea on its website: herbal lemon ginger tea, herbal hibiscus tea, and herbal peppermint tea. The packages, which are priced at $12, each contain 12 sachets.

The Republic of Tea sells its teas at a lower price.

Tea drinkers can purchase hibiscus tea directly from the Republic of Tea for less than what As Ever charges. For $11.50, you can get 36 bags of tea from the brand. Notably, the tea sold on the Republic of Tea’s website is not the exact same product that Meghan sells through As Ever. The Republic of Tea’s round tea bags are natural and unbleached. Meanwhile, As Ever tea is packaged in triangular bags with a string, per the Daily Mail.

It’s unclear how involved the rumored supplier is.

While the Daily Mail claims that the Republic of Tea is supplying tea to Meghan, it’s unclear whether the tea company is involved in packaging the As Ever tea. If the report is true, Meghan would not be the first celebrity to capitalize on her celebrity status.

Speaking to The Sun, royal expert Margaret Holder referred to Meghan Markle as “Meghan Mark-up” and accused her of “taking advantage of celebrity branding.”

At the same time, the tabloid also reported that insiders claim Meghan’s tea is “different” from the products sold by the Republic of Tea.

Despite the drama, Meghan’s brand appears to be doing well.

When Meghan first launched As Ever, her products reportedly sold out in less than an hour. During the second product drop, Meghan’s products sold out once again. A post from As Ever after the second drop read, “Cheers, dears! Wishing you a wonderful weekend! You’ve certainly made ours wonderful. We sold out…again!”
