Plus-size influencer and Premme co-founder GabiFresh — AKA Gabi Gregg — has done it again, y'all. This season, she rolled out her brightest Swimsuits For All collection yet.
So as we always do, we had to ask: How true is the sizing? How practical are these pieces? Are they worth the splurge? Luckily for us, Swimsuits For All sent us the entire collection so we could see for ourselves.
I began my GabiFresh journey in the Water Slide Underwire Bikini, $72, in a size 14 (my true size).
This off-the-shoulder number was actually my least favorite of the bunch, and that's saying a lot because I still felt BOMB in it.
My only issue with the suit? These bottoms. I found they ran a little tight — but that's a very minor issue.
You can tell just by looking at these pictures that the Water Slide's bottoms ran a little tight, but not so much that I felt I should size up. However, these were so high cut that I felt I was on constant wedgie alert, and the thick hem at the waist cinched me in more than I cared to be.
Despite disappointment with the first bikini's bottoms, its top established some major improvements from GabiFresh's last collection, including my saving grace: ADJUSTABLE BUST WIDTH.
Sizing has been a little tricky with other Swimsuits For All collaborations due solely to the fact that I'm broad-shouldered and most tops only have one hook in the back. This new addition, which was on *most* of this collection's tops, solved almost all of my sizing problems.
My heart immediately fluttered when I noticed that this suit, like almost all of the others, also had optional straps.
You'll notice after seeing all of these suits that this collection was designed for customization. Gabi, you've DONE this!
When fashion producer Kala pulled her size 18 Gravitron Underwire Swimsuit, $80, out of its shipping bag, she thought she would need a bigger size. Such was NOT the case at all.
This suit fit Kala's 5'10" body like a glove — a rarity for taller babes who like one-piece suits. It was also entirely true to her true size and the measurements on SFA's size chart.
"In one word, this swimsuit made me feel SEXY," she said. "I looked and felt like a badass."
Kala prefers two-piece swimsuits that provide a little tapering at the waist, and she was pleasantly surprised this one-piece could deliver the same effect with cutouts.
"I loved the mesh cutout details and the color of this swimsuit. I thought these two accents were very uniquely paired."
While she was still feeling herself, Kala went ahead and gave the Ferris Wheel Dress, $55, a spin in an 18/20.
She found herself thrilled by the amount of ways she could tie this dress: with slits, without any slits, or just flowing wide open.
Unlike a lot of other cover-ups on the market, this one *can* provide full coverage — but it doesn't have to if you don't want it to.
Gabi's collection is all about a customized experience — and we love that.
Next up for me: The Carnival Underwire Bikini, $72, in size 14.
This suit was cut almost exactly the same as the Rockies Underwire Bikini from Gabi's last collection, but even truer to size. The bottom is your basic high-wasted brief, and the top fits exactly like a standard demi-cup bra.
The only caveat of this suit was its boobs. Gabi's collections only feature suits with a D/DD or above cup — I'm a C and just barely filled those suckers.
I was made nervous by this suit's lack of adjustable bust width, but the fit was so true to size it didn't matter in the slightest. PHEW.
Side note: I was shell shocked at how flattering this shade of yellow was. Not too pastel, not too bright — just right.
Even for my pale ass.
Kala wanted to try the size 18 Kingdom Swimsuit, $76, because it was WAY out of her comfort zone.
"Initially, I thought I would feel stuffed because one-piece swimsuits usually round out my midsection too much," she said. "Surprisingly, I really liked the style and fit."
"I felt supported in the right places without it being too tight — even without the help of the shoulder straps."
I didn't think the Carousel Bikini, $72, in a size 14 would be my style AT ALL, but when I put it on I couldn't help but dance.
It was actually my perfect swimsuit, for a multitude of reasons.
The bottoms of this suit had the highest waist of all the suits I'd tried. The backside was cut just high enough that I felt a little ~scandalous~ but didn't get that vulnerable and overexposed feeling.
The top, which I shockingly preferred without the support straps, resolved every issue I've ever had with strapless swim tops.
My breasts aren't on the saggy side, but they definitely aren't perky, either. It's always made strapless bras and swimsuits a hassle for me — but this suit wasn't. Both the top and bottom of this suit had strong hems that held everything in place, and that cutesy little ruffle served as blanket under which I could sweep all my boob insecurities.
And once again, like a genius, Gabi opted to put an adjustable band on this suit. On days I felt I needed more support, I could just tighten the top up.
Kala instantly jumped to try on the sporty Scrambler Underwire Bikini, $72, in a size 18.
Like Kala herself, this neon yellow-green suit was a showstopper — she was instantly in love.
"It was so vibrant, and bold, and I love a stand out piece," she said. "I could have used a little more coverage in the bra-cup area, though."
Kala loves the fasten-closure back and the mesh detailing, but recommends sizing up if you like a little more coverage around your bust and butt.
Minor technical difficulties aside, she still felt fire as hell in this suit, though.
I am one of those people that think most beach cover-ups are pointless, but I was stoked to try on the Tilt-A-Whirl Skirt, $55, regardless.
Because I live in a public commuter city and have to take a train to get to the beach, I absolutely despite "cover-ups" that are completely see-though. But this one was actually decently opaque. With a solid crop top, I could actually see myself wearing this around Coney Island.
The symmetric slits on either side of the front had me doing my best Angelina Jolie impression.
For once in my life, I found a maxi skirt that was actually long enough for my 5'11" body. That's amazing for me, but unfortunately I can't say this skirt would be easy to walk around the beach in if you're much shorter than I am.
Oh, and about that bikini... it's the Roller Coaster Underwire Bikini, $72, in a black 14 D/DD.
In terms of color and styling, this swimsuit was practically MADE for me. It was Marylin Monroe meets Morticia Adams, AKA everything I've ever wanted to be in my life.
The top is pretty much a reincarnation of the Prairie Underwire Bikini, my ride-or-die favorite from Gabi's previous collection.
The tummy straps on this newest suit were completely customizable, by the way. I could've worn them in a basic halter, or tied a bow in the front — but I just revel in any chance I get to accentuate my sternum tattoo so immediately went for the front cross.
Despite cutouts in the front, the bottoms were much more full coverage than all the other pieces I tried from the collection.
In fact, I ended up adjusting this suit in the back because it covered a little *too* much — but that's just because I have hip dips and like when they're a little out in the open.
But given that this suit wasn't adjustable and still fit exactly as advertised, I considered it a knockout.
Kala also tried a size 18 D/DD Roller Coaster Bikini, $72, in orange, which looked a lot more like neon coral in real life.
But the color disparity wasn't off-putting in the slightest to her, because her deep skin tone actually glowed in this pink.
"This suit made me feel like a DOLL," she said. "There was nothing about this suit I didn't like."
The underwire top supported her bust, and the cross-body straps gave her that little something ~extra~. All in all? *chef's kiss*
So after trying on almost EVERYTHING in the GabiFresh x Swimsuits For All collection, what are our final thoughts?
Every. Single. Suit in this collection was true to size. Neither Kala nor I ended up with a piece we didn't fit into or just flat-out didn't like, and that truly does not happen… well, ever.
Sizing aside, these pieces are original and very easy to make unique to you using their many practical details. As opposed to other SFA collections we've tried, this one has suits that are both Instagram-friendly AND safe to run around a beach in without flashing anyone.
TLDR: It's cute and practical, and ordering online is a breeze. EXCELLENT. Well done, Gabi. You've done plus-size people the world over proud with this line.
