Fans of Kim Kardashian and Jaclyn Hill alike couldn't contain their excitement when the pair revealed they'd filmed a collaborative video together.
Just a couple weeks later, Hill uploaded the video to her channel, and it did NOT get the response she expected.
Wow, people REALLY do not like Jaclyn Hill's video with Kim Kardashian.
The video I'm talking about is this "Get Ready With Me," in which the two have a casual conversation while they do their makeup together.
Viewers have some serious beef with Hill for CONSTANTLY interrupting Kardashian.
Many fans thought Kardashian seemed increasingly annoyed and just plain ready to leave.
It's not hard to see where they're coming from.
In all her excitement, Hill failed to let Kardashian speak much or teach her how to use her own product (which was pretty much the entire point of the video).
Those who weren't concerned about Hill's chatter were inclined to believe she was "kissing up" to Kardashian.
But what else can a person do when they're confronted with one of their biggest idols?
Hill began her YouTube career by creating Kardashian-inspired makeup tutorials. Of COURSE she's going to be excited and maybe a little overtly polite when Kardashian herself is in the chair next to her.
Hill's responses on social media indicate that she gives literally no shits about being called annoying or rude.
But she has disabled the video's comment section on YouTube.
Woof.
On the bright side, Hill's ride-or-die fans are taking the video as a source of inspiration.
And despite the backlash, it's still huge that a celebrity of Kardashian's caliber is recognizing beauty YouTube as a serious industry.
Beauty YouTubers and influencers aren't often viewed as "real" beauty professionals by the rest of the industry — which is why it's so major that Kim spent so much time with so many of them when she launched KKW Beauty. This video was a major part of that.
