We've become used to associating the name James Charles with drama. The prime subject of dramageddon 2019 continues to prove himself to possibly be one of the most controversial beauty YouTubers of all time (emphasis on one of them).
And just as it seemed like the beauty boy was out of the woods for a little while, more allegations arose, and this time they're downright disgusting. Popular drama vlogger Tea by Ali claims to have screenshots of messages that Charles sent years ago, in which he allegedly speaks ill about a fan who uses a wheelchair. Needles to say, people are shocked.
Popular drama YouTube channel Tea by Ali is claiming to have found some inflammatory text screenshots from James Charles.
These unconfirmed Facebook Messenger screenshots allegedly capture a conversation in which Charles details an encounter with a fan using a wheelchair years ago.
"And did I tell you that these fans came up to me for a pic? There was literally the hottest guy I've ever seen, like Justin Bieber [redacted]… he wanted a picture with me but some kid in a [redacted] wheelchair came up before him and could barely talk and took forever. The whole time he was talking I was like hurry the [redacted] up SPIT IT OUT!! Like he could barely talk it was so annoying. Like shut up my future husband is behind you!! Like go back to the special olympics," the alleged messages read.
Given Charles' at-times tumultuous past, some believed the allegations immediately.
In a very active Reddit thread, hundreds of users reacted.
"Is anyone surprised??? James is a POS. Always has been. Even if everything Tati said wasn’t true, he’s still a POS. His own actions have shown it time and time again," a critic commented.
Others noted, however, that the messages could have easily been fabricated, and that's very much true.
"Not defending one way or the other, but it’s it at all possible these are fake?? Screenshots are really easy to fabricate and it is a drama channel after all," another wrote. "James can and has been [redacted], but this is just seems… Fishy to me. He can't be so stupid as to have said this to a drama channel of all people."
They later corrected their statement: "Apparently James didn't send this to the drama channel, but considering Tea by Ali is still a J* lapdog and the fact that this is just a little too perfect because there's absolutely no way it's defensible, I'm still very suspicious. We shall see what happens."
When people noted the fake last name used in the screenshots, social media investigators did some digging.
"There's more than just screen grabs of this out there. I watched a couple of videos I found through Twitter, and they all show a screen recording of the text exchange and then the person clicking through to a Facebook profile. This is supposedly from when he was just 'starting out' and still had his name as 'Dickinson' on FB," someone clarified.
But the point remains that whether or not the screenshots are real, the messages in them were reprehensible.
"That is a terrible thing to say about a fan. If he was that handicapped it probably took a lot of effort for him to make it to the venue and meet someone he admires. JC this is horrible. Also, to be honest, I’m also cringing at these SS coming out because the fan’s family members or other disabled fans might read them and be made to feel like [redacted]," a Redditor noted.
On another note, many were intrigued by the concerns Charles allegedly wrote about someone named Manny — who many are convinced is Manny MUA.
"Manny is just so hot and cold one minute. I feel like he wants to [redacted] me then the next he's not talking to me. Plus he's really hard to talk to when Patrick is around," the alleged screenshots mysteriously alluded.
What. A. Mess.
Charles just can't seem to stay away from drama. Though it's difficult to confirm, he has some serious explaining to do if these screenshots are not doctored. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any added evidence.
