Jeffree Star dragged the founder of Too Faced for being ‘petty and gross’

On Saturday, Too Faced Cosmetics co-founder Jerrod Blandino shared a photo of his brand's best selling Unicorn Tears lipstick to Instagram.

Then the beauty world exploded — and Jeffree Star was to blame.

Blandino's now-deleted Instagram post implied that he believes Tarte Cosmetics copied Too Faced with its recent unicorn-themed collection.

The caption read: "Unicorn Tears! The original that started a craze and still holds the #1 spot as the best selling lipstick in all of Ulta. Copycats aren't unicorns #ThereArentUnicornsInTheAmazon"

Although there's no direct mention of Tarte, people believe that the mention of the Amazon is in clear reference to Tarte's use of Amazonian clay in its foundations, blushes, highlighters, and more.

Damn.

And naturally, Jeffree Star had a LOT to say about it.

Star made posts across social media reprimanding Blandino for being "petty and gross" for dragging another brand in public — AND for acting like he invented unicorn lipstick.

"As a makeup lover and as a makeup fan, your shading another brand is so petty and gross," he said. "It wasn't even creative. Bitch, it sucked… Who is even that delusional and dumb to think that they invented unicorn makeup?"

He even momentarily swallowed his very public hatred for Lime Crime to set the record straight: Lime Crime has been selling Unicorn Lipstick long before Too Faced.

"You want me to spill the real fucking tea right now, you want me to keep it REALLY real?" Star says. "I literally despise the owner of Lime Crime, but you want some fucking fact? Who created unicorn lipstick SEVEN years ago, bitch? So Jerrod, let's come back to earth, baby."

Shots. Fired.

And just when we thought it was over, he continued, "If I could tell you the contract that NikkieTutorials signed for her Too Faced palette and what they did to her, you guys would fucking scream."

"But if she wants to talk about that one day I will let her," he says. "They probably had her sign so many contracts and agreements, so she's not allowed to even speak of it."

WHOA.

Fast forward one day, and Star already had plans to reveal even MORE receipts.

Star tweeted at Jerrod "You guys took advantage of an innocent girl and gave her almost NOTHING. how the fuck do you sleep at night???"

Pulling. No. Punches.

But he didn't have to. YouTuber Sanders Kennedy allegedly received contract details from an anonymous source whom he claims is not Star.

(That said, Star did tweet a link to this video, saying that it told the TRUTH about what had really gone down.

According to this "very reliable source," Nikkie made between $40,000 and $60,000 for her Power of Makeup collaboration. That's RIDICULOUSLY low.

That might sound like a lot of money, especially to us mere peasants, but hear me out. With Nikkie's name and influence, Too Faced sold 150,000 palettes for $56 each. That alone equates to $8.4 MILLION.

Plus, NikkieTutorials is one of the most influential beauty vloggers in the world. Her reported net worth and sponsored video fee make an entire collaboration with her worth FAR more than a mere $50k.

Oh yeah, and shortly after the release of the palette, Estee Lauder bought Too Faced last year for a reported $1.45 billion. There is no question of budget here.

Not only was she apparently severely underpaid, but the source states Too Faced took nine months to pay her instead of the contracted six. During that time, she was legally barred from working with other brands.

For a beauty vlogger of NikkieTutorials' caliber, that's a huge amount of her means of living just gone. For the better part of a year.

Neither Blandino, Too Faced, nor NikkieTutorials have responded to Star or made a public statement regarding the matter. NikkieTutorials could even be contractually obligated to stay silent.

Revelist has reached out to Too Faced Cosmetics for comment and will keep you updated, as always.

But that won't stop Jeffree Star from saying what they can't — or won't.

Star himself said it best: The truth comes out eventually.
