Every morning before I head to work, I spend at least an hour and a half doing my makeup. Even though I love all that me time, I'm also in a rush 24/7.
Aside from saving time spent drawing on eyebrows, since mine are naturally light and sparse, I also want to find a solution to the 15 to 20 minutes I spend on my lashes alone.
I have considered many options. Everyone recommended lash extensions, but I wear a lot of eyeliner and glitter on my lids, both of which can interfere with extensions. I heard about lash lifts and decided to give it a try.

Before I show you the before and after of my lash lift, let me explain why I decided to do this.
These are my lashes without any product or enhancement.
They don't have a natural curl and they are extremely short.
Not many lash curlers fit them, so I often feel like I'm pushing the curler into my eye to reach even the tip of my lashes.
This is why I ALWAYS use a lash curler.
I applied mascara to both eyes but only the left eye is curled. See that huge difference? Having short lashes affects the type of mascara I can use: If it isn't waterproof, my lashes drop even after being curled.
For my lash lift, I took a recommendation from a fellow blogger and scheduled an appointment at She Winks, where a lash lift costs $140.
Once I arrived, a technician explained the process step by step. She told me the results would last for about nine weeks.
The first step was to protect the bottom lashes from being curled. She placed a silicone pad over them.
She then placed a thicker silicone pad over my lid and taped it down.
Using a tiny comb, she brushed and glued my lashes upward against the silicone pad.
This pink gel is a perm solution that's applied and left to cure for 15 minutes.
This was painless with no tingling or sensation at all.
Next, a blue setting gel goes on for another 15 minutes.
Again, totally painless.
My lashes were then dried with a fan and brushed in place.
Before the big reveal, she tinted my lashes to make them darker and more prominent.
Honestly, I was shook when I saw the results.
My lashes were actually touching my lids and they seemed so much longer. Where have you been all my life?
I noticed a slight tint of blue on my lash line, and a couple of strands that managed to escape.
I had to wait 24 hours before getting them wet or putting on makeup.
For the first time ever, I'm able to wear a non-waterproof mascara.
My lashes are so long!
The before and after is so dramatic. I have zero regrets about this and am so happy I decided to get it done!
