This Nicki Minaj transformation makes a big statement about blackface

Blackface makeup transformations have unfortunately been a popular trend in the beauty community — but makeup artist Alexis Stone is turning the trend totally on its head with jaw-dropping celebrity looks.

We already know Stone is a contour master who can turn into literally *anyone* he wants — but now he's transforming into more celebrities of color and the final looks will leave you SLAYED.

Hold your wigs. This snatch is everything!

This is Alexis Stone's Nicki Minaj look. She looks more like Nicki Minaj than Nicki Minaj — even though she thankfully left out one thing.

No Photoshop. No Blackface. All Alexis Stone skils.

"I’m hella pale in comparison being I am white," he wrote simply in the caption. "I didn’t darken my foundation shade as I don’t want to offend anyone."

He created this Nicki Minaj look with contour and highlighting talents alone. As for Nicki Minaj's melanin? He left that to Nicki— and still pulled the look off.

You can watch his full Blackface-free Nicki Minaj transformation here.

Popping!

Stone also did this stunning recreation of Cardi B — once again, without ANY blackface or artificial noses.

So cute!

"From now on all my race change celebrity drag transformations will be done like this without darkening my foundation shade," Alexis wrote.

Also, remember the artist who used a prosthetic nose to look like Cardi B? Stone's look proves just how unnecessary all of that is.

Contour queens, get on your jobs! This is how it's done.

Celebrities who are even darker don't need blackface makeup, either. Look at how amazing this Naomi Campbell recreation is!

Just LOOK at how he nailed the fullness of Naomi's lips and high cheekbones!  The trick seems to be that you highlight the other features on people of color, rather than trying on a deeper skin tone — you know, because we *do* have other features.

The lesson is clear here: You don't *need* to do blackface. Not for a celebrity look. Not as a "compliment." Not. Ever.

Let blackface die already.

When you're talented and creative, making your skin darker to look like your favorite celebrity isn't even close to the only way you can pull off your look.

Alexis Stone was called out for using blackface for some of his looks and instead of clapping back and defending the inexcusable — he switched it up and put his skills to the test.

The results are LIT. Take notes makeup artists. Let's do better in 2018.
