Building self confidence can be more about un-doing things than doing things.
You can block a bully from your Facebook page, but you can't block your subconscious from constantly whispering, lose weight, don't eat that, and you don't deserve this yet.
Think about how you treat your loved ones. That's how you should treat yourself. Your body should not be an exception to your kindness.
Erase these 13 thoughts from your mind. Right. Now.
"I wish I looked like her."
There is nothing wrong with admiring another person — but also spend some time thinking about your own admirable qualities.
"He/she liked me when I used to be..."
You don't become more or less worthy of love based on what you look like. BOY BYE.
"No one thinks I'm pretty."
Learn to love yourself enough that compliments are a bonus, not a requirement for happiness.
"I look so disgusting."
Would you talk that way to someone that you love? Treat yourself with the same love and respect as you treat those closest to you.
"I never wanna be fat like..."
Comparison is never a good road to go down — especially when it insults another person.
"I'm probably not his/her type anyway."
Stop judging yourself through the eyes of others.
"I wish I could do that but I'm too fat."
There's no way to know if you can't do something until you've actually tried (and tried again).
"Maybe if I lost weight or put on makeup I'd be prettier."
Work out and eat right to feel good. Put on makeup because it's fun and you like it.
"I'm not good at anything."
Even if you truly aren't good at something, there's no need to dwell in it! Move on. Find the thing you are good at and throw your whole heart into it.
"I'll wear that when I have the body for it."
Why wait? Live in the present!
"I shouldn't eat that; I'm way too fat."
Stop looking at food as a reward or punishment.
"I can't wear that; it's not flattering."
#FuckFlattering
"I can't do that; people will stare."
When you stop being afraid of what strangers will say and think, it's amazing how your entire world changes and opens up.
