Tragedy recently struck an Oklahoma City community when five people died in an apparent murder-suicide. Sadly, it appears a 10-year-old boy found his entire family dead when he woke up around 9:35 a.m. April 22 and called 911 for help. Once on the scene, the Oklahoma City Police Department made a gruesome discovery. The child's parents and three brothers were all dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
According to a news release from the Oklahoma City Police Department, Jonathon Candy, 42, shot his wife, Lindsay Candy, 39, and three of their sons, Dylan, 18, Ethan, 14, and Lucas, 12, before turning the gun on himself. It remains unclear why the fourth son's life was spared.

Police believe the killings happened overnight.
Master Sergeant Gary Knight addressed the media in a news conference and confirmed that police believe the husband and wife got into an altercation at some point overnight, but what started the problem is unclear.
He explained that Jonathon Candy shot his wife several times and then "systematically" went through the family's home and killed their sons. He added that no one knows why the 10-year-old was not killed, stating, "in the end, nobody's ever going to know the answer to that."
Apparently the scene was brutal.
Knight said there is no indication as to why Jonathon Candy killed his wife and children. "But make no mistake about it, what happened in that residence was nothing short of a massacre. Those children were hunted down and killed," he added.
He said the 10-year-old was placed in the care of a relative.
The apparent murder-suicide came as a shock to those who knew the family.
Loved ones gathered at a local park to remember the Candy family, Fox 25 reported.
Ethan Candy played baseball for the Mustang Misfits. Rhonda Armstrong, who called herself the "team mom," told the news station she was heartbroken. "At this point, I just wish the nightmare would be over. I wish it was all a bad dream and that we would wake up and they would still be here," she said.
Wyatt Livecy, Ethan's best friend, told Fox 25, "I could have never imagined that. Ever. In my whole entire life … I'm still in shock."
Others shared their disbelief on social media.
Some posted their shock on Jonathon Candy's Facebook page. One person wrote, "I always loved you and your beautiful family. I don't know what happened but I will miss you all. My heart is heavy for all that was blessed to know all of you."
Another person who had just seen him shared his shock. "Man I can't believe this happened. I work with him and I just seen him the other night at the thunder game and we was talking about the thunder game and then I hear of this. I'm so sad right now I'm shocked," the person commented.
"My heart is breaking! You guys where loved and will be dearly missed!" someone else wrote.
