What to Know
It’s wild to think that we’re still having debates about breastfeeding in public in 2026, but this is where we are. This week, new mom Aura McCullough took to TikTok to blast a local restaurant that kicked her out for breastfeeding, and now that the restaurant has responded with a video of their own, it’s clear that two very different stories are being told here. So who’s actually telling the truth?
The new mom claimed her family was forced to leave the restaurant on Father’s Day.

According to what Aura said in her TikTok video, she and her family were celebrating her husband’s first Father’s Day since welcoming their baby at a restaurant called Nowhere Bar in Celina, Texas. The time came to breastfeed her little one, so she did… and she was promptly asked to either cover up or leave.
“We asked if somebody complained, and they said the manager was watching the cameras and said that we can’t do that,” she said.
Refusing to cover up, she asked for her check so she could leave. The owner was willing to cover their tab, but she and her group needed to leave.
After opening up about the incident the first time, she said the owner actually reached out and said that she was kicked out of the bar for having her “breasts exposed for prolonged periods of time.”
Yeah, this is not gonna help the restaurant’s case.
The restaurant responded with a video on Instagram.
Katie, an owner of Nowhere Bar, posted a video on the restaurant’s Instagram page the following day in the hopes of setting the record straight. There’s just one problem: The story they told is so different from Aura’s that it’s hard to tell who’s actually being honest here.
“To be direct, Nowhere Bar does not prohibit breastfeeding,” the owner said. “We have never asked anybody to stop breastfeeding. We have never asked anybody to leave because they were breastfeeding and that will never be our policy.”
She added, “We were not present for the interaction, we were not watching cameras, and everything we know about the situation was reported to us by our staff and management team.”
According to Katie, a “young employee” said they were uncomfortable with the customer’s breasts being exposed, and her restaurant wanted to be sure to look out for the young workers who their parents trust them to look after while they’re at work.
So many people are still coming to the mom’s defense.
@carnivoreaura Was kicked out because I was breast feeding my child on premise. Was told this was “a family establishment” as there was 4 tables in the entire venue, including ours, and we were the only family at said establishment. They said they’d cover our bill and that we could leave. Two couples and their 5 month old babies got kicked out of this establishment on Father’s Day for breastfeeding.

At this point, it seems like everyone’s taking Aura’s side on this one — it doesn’t matter how the restaurant is trying to spin it.
“I’m seeing this becoming more common & it is so sad. Why is breastfeeding in public being shamed & penalized?” one commenter wrote.
